In an attempt to gain some insight into what makes them tick, all boys should probably read the one for girls. Will it help…not likely. What should girls find when learning what makes men tick? Easy…football, beer and girls!
I’m currently reading “The Last Empress” by Hannah Pakula, about Soong May-Ling,wife of Chiang Kai-Shek (perhaps Doc knows something about her).If you like college basketball, you should catch Seth Davis’ “When March Went Mad”,about Larry Bird and Magic Johnson back in 78-79.
This is my favorite book of Edward Gorey’s, The Ghastlycrumb Tinies, which could also be dubbed, The Dangerous Book for Children (or, The Stress Relief Book for Teachers With Problem Children).
I liked this book so much I bought it twice.
I bought this for some nephews for Christmas a few years back, but haven’t read it myself. Have you read the version for girls?

Studied her quite a bit actually. Fascinating person, anything you want to know from an across the pond perspective?
The whole Soong family is interesting, really…Starting with Charlie Soong(graduate of Vanderbilt!),one could sort of call them Chinese Americans.
Don’t forget Dr. Noonian Soong.
He looked so much healthier in Enterprise.

That comment was intended for the Open Thread- my bad.
That was good. Think ol’ Eric the boyz at DOJ will understand it?

Have this book in my classroom. The boys love thumbing through it.
