The Center Cannot Hold

This,

is not hyperbole (I’ll quote from his article below my take). This really is a cold civil war. It’s not left against right or progressives against conservatives; it’s our government bureaucracy vs. the citizenry.

Some of you recently wrote about evil characters in movies and television that scared you the most and there was general agreement that the Borg in the Star Trek canon was one of the creepiest. Not having watched any Star Trek since the 1970s I went to wikipedia to read up on what the “Borg” is.

It’s an apt analogy for what is going on, and has been going on for the better part of the past 100 years. We get caught up in the philosophy and politics of it all, but this is a simple, basic struggle for control that has risen to a level of fundamental conflict. There are a lot of individual reasons individual people have for fighting individual battles, but it all coalesces into one of two sides. One side is a huge system, the other side are individuals struggling to not be assimilated into that system.

The blizzard of lies and distraction blowing through Washington is not just any routine stuffstorm, but a calculated attempt to bring down a president – our president, not the establishment’s president. And more than that, it’s an attempt to ensure that we never again have the ability to disrupt the bipartisan D.C. cabal’s permanent supremacy by inserting a chief executive who refuses to kiss their collective Reid.

This is a coup against us.

It’s a coordinated campaign by liberals and their allies in the bureaucracy and media to once and for all ensure their perpetual rule over us. We need to fight it, here and now, so we don’t have to fight it down at the bottom of this slippery slope.

This is a concentrated, coordinated effort by elite insiders to take down not this president – Trump’s not the point here – but to take down us, the normal American they seek to rule. Someone came to Washington who wasn’t part of the club, and that’s intolerable. So they are desperate to expel him, and by extension, us.

And when the liberal establishment retakes power, and the mavericks and goody-goodies get tossed aside, the bureaucracy, media and the Democrats will conspire to ensure that no one can ever take their power from them again. But they haven’t considered the consequences. We’ll object.

Safe to say I’ve never the likes of this concerted assault, press and establishment against one man(even Nixon).Like him or not,Trump awakened the Deplorables, and the apparatchiks are scared. If you see an attempt at Electoral Nullification, thing could get very ugly,a hot civil war.

Schlichter agrees with you regarding a “hot” civil war and says so in the last line of his piece. I’m more cynical. I’m not so sure enough people can be pulled away from their handheld devices, jet skis and barbecues to foster enough concern for losing individual liberty. The system of control has grown nearly unabated since Coolidge left office and nothing’s seemed to rile the citizenry to action yet.

Unlike the boiling frog, the system keeps us quite comfortable and its tentacles permeate all of our lives in some way.

Perhaps, but there is real anger out here at the leftists who want it all, government, our schools, our culture.Neroism is in the air,the sharp smell of ozone after the lightening flash.

  • Right after Trump won, a pundit (I think it was Bill Whittle, but don’t quote me on that) said that the retaliation from the Democrats and their media allies was going to be unlike anything Americans have ever seen, and he wasn’t kidding. Endless protests, wall-to-wall anti-Trump coverage, mobs in the streets looking for “Nazis” and “fascists” (aka people they disagree with) to beat up, journalists openly wishing for Trump voters and their families to die, and so on. These people feel the power slipping from their fingers, and they are terrified. We are going to have to pry it from their fingers like getting the Ring away from Gollum. It’s going to be an ugly four years.
