THIS IS THE MAN
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0a/Mitt_Romney_at_2012_CPAC.jpg
Mitt is a man who has and a man who will.Obama? As Charles Sumner said of Roger Taney, his is a name “to be hooted down the pages of history”.
I’m not entirely confident I can put my finger on why, but the calls I hear from a lot of conservatives concerning a particular result for this election just don’t sit well with me. I think I’ll stand with Abraham Lincoln who is reported, in the book Six Months at the White House by Francis Bicknell Carpenter, published in 1867, to have had the following exchange:
“No nobler reply ever fell from the lips of a ruler, than that uttered by President Lincoln in response to the clergyman who ventured to say, in his presence, that he hoped “the Lord was on our side.”
” “I am not at all concerned about that,” replied Mr. Lincoln, “for I know that the Lord is always on the side of the right. But it is my constant anxiety and prayer that I and this nation should be on the Lord’s side.” “
Abe for the eternal win! If only our allegedly Lincoln-loving current President adhered to that sentiment.
Best Youtube video of the week!

Good one! Wish I’d found it earlier!
Nice.
Too bad they’re Buckeyes (had fingers crossed OSU made ‘em from OK), ’cause that’s a damn fine parody.
Polls open in New York and CT! Vote for your GOP senate candidate as well as ROmney Ryan also GOP House. We need to get Reid out of the senate leadership if Obamacare is to be repealed.
Romney has the edge in all the non-MSN related national polls. Even the fact that they’re neck and neck in swing states is huge. That’s really bad for an incumbent whom everyone knows, to be that close to a challenger who is unknown to most of the country. It’s obvious to voters that he would have a strong lead had he been a successful president, or done a half-way decent job. I don’t feel we’ve heard from the independents yet in the polls, and that they’ll turn out in Romney’s favor today. If people have been following the size of crowds that each candidate has gathered at rallies, more have been showing up for Romney’s than Obama’s. Even the DNC convention had to be downsized because they couldn’t pack an arena, and still had to bus people in to fill up seats so it wouldn’t look like a Sparano-era Dolphins game. For these reasons, I’m optimistic.

This.
Stay on target, stay on target.
Genderless Same-Sex so-called Marraige is on the ballot in some states. If some of your friends on the Right think we need to accept the idea of Same-Sex so-called Marriage please share this piece by Jennifer Roback Morse:
“The freedom to marry: a liberal value that conservatives should shun”.
A snip:
“Replacing natural bonds with state-defined bonds absolutely goes against the natural law founding of our country. Our Founding Fathers understood natural law to mean that we had certain rights that come to us from God. They referred to these as “unalienable rights.” If there are any unalienable rights whatsoever, certainly the natural bond of a child to his own mother and father is chief among them.”
Correction the piece is by Jennifer Thieme, Director of Finance & Advancement for the Ruth Institute, not Jennifer Roback Morse that institute’s founder.
Here’s another good snip:
“Conservatives must never forget that traditional (gendered) marriage existed before the state. This is what gives gendered marriage its power over the state — it existed prior to the state. A society based on the idea of limited government depends more on gendered marriage than gendered marriage does on it. The nuclear family is a bulwark against the state. Other family forms are not — other family forms require more and more state intervention in order to support their existence either by law or financially, which is why liberals need other family forms in order to stay in power and why they want to redefine marriage.”
I ask you to think again, if you believe that social issues should be secondary to economic and national security issues.
So did polygamy,Daniel…that’s gendered marriage.
Very good, Daniel. On the money.
Excellent piece. I’m going to have to read through it a couple of more times to digest it.
In true skeptical tradition, I’m going to be grumpy today in anticipation of status quo ante electionem. It minimizes the pain of what I think may be our fate while maximizing the joy and relief should I be wrong.
Yeah. One of the reasons I’m a pessimist is because optimists can never, by definition, be pleasantly surprised. And I like being pleasantly surprised.
Besides, I still believe that our choice is between getting the collapse over with, or delaying the inevitable, neither of which excites me. What would excite me is the indication that Romney has decided that governing and undoing the excesses of the last four years takes precedent over his reelection campaign.
And if the Campaigner-in-Chief loses, will He try for a Grover Cleveland? I hope so, because the Democrats need to finish the job of being transforming themselves into a cult of personality, no matter what happens today.
Aw, Floyd! Ortega!! Snap out of it!! There’s a name for guys like you!!! Don’t be one of these!! *o*
La dee da,Floyd speaks Welsh!Status blah blah!
Ed Gillespie on Fox: “The most dangerous place to be today is between a Republican and a voting booth.”
Lol, very true.
The area near the Obama’s dog might not be someplace one would care to be either, later on today.
Your mouth to God’s ear, Mr. 13.
Boy, I hope you’re right!
When I saw the email from our precinct telling me they had my vote two weeks ago…I did a Snoopy dance! WE ARE GONNA DO THIS!Anyone else feel as good?
Cautiously optimistic, as usual ’round this time of year.
Don’t cry for me, Venezuela.
It won’t be easy, you’ll think it strange
When I try to explain how I feel
That I still need your love after all that I’ve done.
And as for fortune, and as for fame
I never invited them in
Though it seemed to the world they were all I desired.
Have I said too much?
There’s nothing more I can think of to say to you.
But all you have to do is look at me to know
That every word is true.
ARE???
http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2012/11/are-the-democrats-trying-to-steal-pennsylvania.php
I’m sure they are. In fact, I’ll go so far as to suggest that, if the election isn’t absolutely decisive by midnight tonight, this country will be in a lot of trouble. Next to an all-out win, Democrats relish close elections, as vote fraud becomes more effective.
Howard Dean begins to “set up” their “fail” excuse: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuTQqm1C99g
I was going to wait till tonight to start drinking….I may have to up the start time. I keep trying to tell myself that Jesus has got this thing, there is not an election result that surprises Him, but I’m just really wanting to know if we’re to be turned over to our sinful ways or if we get deliverance. I’ve done all I can do. I’ve voted. I’ve prayed. Now I just gotta make it through today without my kids needing serious therapy or me needing to go through a 12 step program.
I think it is up to us to determine our direction.
Do we live in a nation where a majority of voters believe a cabal of men and women can central plan life better than we can on our own?
Are we a nation that prefers to hire tax collectors and federal agents to take money from those who have earned it to give to those in need, or are we a country that believes it is our personal responsibility to help others?
Are we a nation filled with envy?
Are we a greedy people?
Are we a gluttonous people?
Are we a racist people?
Are we a covetous people?
A people who are willing to trade their God-given rights and freedoms for a promise of man-given security deserve their fate.
We find out today how many of our neighbors truly want to be free men and women. You are fortunate you live in Texas where you already know that answer.
So, are you saying that when Romney wins, no more free stuff? #o#
So you’re saying we get to 67 in the Senate? ‘Cause unless that happens, the pebbles that started back in 1917 are now the boulders crashing down upon us all.
Ya, T! Y’all have 38 big ones for R&R. If I uz there, I’d take you to the diner fer coffee & share my flask.
Tomorrow, the only program you’ll need is the two-step kind in the arms of your husband!!
So, a little good news before the drive to work, this morning: http://hotair.com/archives/2012/11/06/romney-up-92k-in-oh-early-voting/
Yeah, we know they’re scumbags… http://www.theblaze.com/stories/chicago-source-tells-author-brad-thor-obama-campaign-planning-to-proclaim-early-victory-to-demoralize-romney-supporters/?fb_action_ids=10151131490513517%2C10151131421673517%2C10151131373793517%2C10151131022528517&fb_action_types=og.likes&fb_source=other_multiline&action_object_map={%2210151131490513517%22%3A122273101261838%2C%2210151131421673517%22%3A404969742905642%2C%2210151131373793517%22%3A526581997369536%2C%2210151131022528517%22%3A429290543801311}&action_type_map={%2210151131490513517%22%3A%22og.likes%22%2C%2210151131421673517%22%3A%22og.likes%22%2C%2210151131373793517%22%3A%22og.likes%22%2C%2210151131022528517%22%3A%22og.likes%22}&action_ref_map=[]
The damned MSM has been doing this for years with their early projections 3 to 4 hours before the polls close in Mountain and Pacific time zones. They all need to quit with that crap, especially when less than 5% of the precincts have even reported!
I was going to try to be above it all and not pay attention to anything until tonight, but I have caved already. Thanks, Kenn.
Aw, c’mon in! The water’s fine! We need you here today, besides.
I already voted, have to go to work for a bit, & then butt glue in front of the TV till Romney’s acceptance speech is over.
(Is it ladylike to have gin & tonic for breakfast?)
No! Ditch the tonic, it will give you gas!
Gas is >$3.70 a gallon here. I could use the money.
TCR could use the money, too.
It’s at $3.55 in Vegas…finally. Not cheap, but a small start.
Today, prices jumped from $3.25 to $3.45.
I just voted too. And boy did it feel good. I just wish it counted more in this blue, blue state.
“It is better to light a single candle than curse the darkness.”
Thanks for lighting that candle, Tink!
Floyd puts up a pic of a black guy breaking the tape…subtle!
Floyd is color blind.
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar -William Clinton, in front of the Grand Jury ( under oath).
But sometimes it really is the truth.
And he looks like a crucified man from the bird’s eye view.
Snap!!
Mitt Romney vid: “The Moment”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByRsaeiv2xc&feature=plcp
Latest forecast from the -fritz- News Service Obama has been declared America’s newest ex-President in early exit polls!
There you are! Forecast above says stay away from Bo tomorrow.
Jonah Goldberg tweet: “Looking forward to the Gipper looking down from Heaven and saying “Mr. Axelrod, shave off that mustache.”"
“And if I am elected
I promise the formation of a new party
A third party, the Wild Party!
I know we have problems,
We got problems right here in Central City,
We have problems on the North, South, East and West,
New York City, Saint Louis, Philadelphia, Los Angeles,
Detroit, Chicago,
Everybody has problems,
And personally, I don’t care.”
Vote is in.
Like Floyd I’m worried about the status quo but more specifically in Congress. I’m strangely confident in a Romney win. But we aren’t electing an Emperor.
I’m recovered, rested, and shot full of muscle relaxers. Glad to be back among the living. Now I’m off to do poll support (sounds dirty).
Today I’m all about shutting out the Fear Pron. I do it by chanting “President Romney!” like a mantra.
Glad to hear you are feeling better!
Some possible good news.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2228359/Romney-campaign-internal-polling-puts-Republican-nominee-point-ahead-Ohio.html?ito=feeds-newsxml
If you are Republican in Ohio, PA, or Wisconsin or any of the swing states then VOTE!
Huge GOP turnout in OH. People on twitter are saying its huge in PA. No word on WIsconsin but June wasn’t that far away……I’d say huge GOP turnout all over.
I got up early be at the polls when they opened at 7:00. I was near the front, but the line was long behind me before they opened the doors. The place was pretty crowded, but I have an idea (could be wrong) turnout was a little lighter than four years ago. If so, enthusiasm for O may be down a little in Minnesota, since my area’s pretty blue. But that feeling is too vague to mean much.
Bill Whittle on whether the U.S. can survive another Obama term: “The British are gone. The Confederates are gone. The Nazis are gone. The Imperial Japanese are gone. The communists are gone. Al-Qaeda’s gone. But we’re still here. And if you think that a botoxed harpie from San Francisco, the greasiest car salesman in Nevada, the dumbest man in all of Delaware and a two-bit, narcissistic, jug-eared thug from Chicago can kill that, you are out of your mind.”
AWESOME.
Box of Thin Mints for Bill!
Bill Whittle is awesome.
“The communists are gone.” … Uh, no, they are not. They just make up the European Union.
“Al-Qaeda’s gone.” … where does Whittle come up with this stuff.. Al-Qaeda’s gone? Might want to let folks in Iraq know.
Bill’s a fairly smart guy, but sometimes he says some really dumb things.
He was talking about the communists in their 20th century, Soviet incarnation. And admittedly, Al-Qaeda is not gone per se, but they’re a pale shadow of what they once were.
I really worry about that jug eared thug from Chicago ! He’s got so many tricks up his sleeve, that quite literally everything the man says or puts pen to, is totally unconstitutional!
OOOOHH RAHH!
I voted, then spent the morning running errands for polling place volunteers. I wish I was more of a “official capacity” person, but since I don’t have a SmartPhone, and ap capability, I can’t do the cool stuff. So I did grunt work, and am proud of it!
Wish I could knit — I’d knit up an “I Voted” sweater.
“Wish I could knit — I’d knit up an “I Voted” sweater.” And then you could wear it once every couple of years. Unlike the Christmas tree sweater, which you can wear once a year.
Hey, don’t judge. I’d wear it every time I was feeling particularly…Republican.
Huh? We’re only supposed to wear our Christmas sweater once a year? *Who knew?*
You can wear yours whenever you like. Even in the middle of the summer when it’s blistering hot outside.
Just don’t wear it like Fritz does…just the sweater…
“Jingle bells”?
Careful there, Pilgrim!
Doc, do you have a chimney where you live? By the time I get to Taiwan every year, I need a sitdown!
“A Polling Place Official Capacity Person”
Is that another name for a fluffer?
Make it one of those tight-fitting angora sweaters circa 1950.
On an interesting note: 152 years ago, America elected its first Republican President.
The Dems didn’t take it too well then.
True that…they murdered him!
Oh, yeah…
Any Philly 3Ders?
Check this out:
http://minx.cc/?post=334697
This is at a Philadelhpia polling place. UnF*CKINGbelievable! Who can I call to protest?
Not, repeat not, AG Eric Holder.
My wife won the “See how quickly they react when you ask to show ID” prize this morning, this year going to one of Burbank’s finest poll workers.
“What if someone comes and votes, saying they’re me?” “Now who’s going to lie and use that name?”
I did my best not to get all Eastern European indignant.
“Now who’s going to lie and use that name?”
That made me laugh. Sorry.
Oh, I kinda laughed, too. How do you think I remained on the correct side of indignant.
Disclaimer: “No Upper Yugoslaverians were harmed during the making of this statement!”
That’s great! You married a fighter!
This, http://bocanewsnow.com/2012/11/06/woman-wearing-mit-shirt-banned-from-voting-in-boca-raton/
is hilarious! A woman wore an “MIT” shirt to a polling place and was almost banned from voting!
Did my civic duty. Voted for all the Good Guys, naturally. My polling place was a Baptist church. Let’s hope my vote was on God’s side.
I wonder if the simplicity of the Virginia ballot will expedite election returns. With only three offices and two “Questions” it isn’t that hard to navigate.
California’s Bay Area’s was four long sided pages worth. Yeah. We know how.
So, I live in Taiwan and it’s not s joke that Chinese/Taiwanese people have difficulty with the “r” sound and the “l” sound often swapping the two.
So, I had to try really hard not to laugh when one of my 6th graders asked me, “Teacher, in the USA you will all have an erection today, right?
Sure kid, we’re all having an erection…
Paul Lyon ——> girl election.
Apparently it’s not always sunny in Philadelphia. More thug corruption …

Floyd, what a perfect picture to use today! Just as I predicted, the African American guy edging out the white guy in a very close race.
The runner’s Haitian, BarryO. Next.
try finding a photo of a white guy winning a race… who’s racist now?
Almost white guy winning race:

Kenyan.
Why do democrats, who are not prejudiced, like those hateful republicans, see skin color first?
My biggest laugh of the week:
“You’re laughing, but who wants a president who will knowingly, repeatedly tell you something he knows is not true?” – Bill Clinton, campaigning for Obama.
I think Clinton says these things as backhanded comments, seemingly talking about Romney, but means Obama. The other day he said that he may be the only guy in America who still believes in Obama. He’s too sly not to have meant these as double entendres.

Drudge says Exit polls show boom for O.
Of course, Exit Polls also showed booms for Kerry and Barret in 2004 and WI 2012.
I’m tired of hearing how Drudge is conservative. He’s a traffic whore plain and simple. That he would participate in voter suppression tactics just to drive traffic is all I need to know about Matt Drudge.
“He’s a traffic whore plain and simple.”
Well, I knew that.
I agree. I don’t pay attention to the top headlines, but it is a one stop place for most of the stories you don’t get to read anywhere else.
Did John Ziegler’s appearance on RF3D teach us otherwise?
I beg to report, casting my ballot exactly twelve hours ago, now. Then I jumped in my truck to head to work, as I hit next on the Ipod, with the odds at about 1000:1, this song came up next. I’m calling it a good omen, and I almost blew the speakers out on it.
now Drudge says “Exit Polls Tight”…. is it a Boom or is it tight?
John Kerry won the exit polls in 2004 as I recall by a wide margin. Then they counted.
I remember that too. I never saw so much hand wringing and whining without bedtime or chores being involved.
When I looked over there it said “Boom”.
Just wanted to get my hopes down so I might get more than pleasantly surprised if tonight goes well.
Staphanie Cutter was telling dems today not to worry if the exit polls are discouraging. Maybe they don’t plan to play that game again.
The wife just got a call from the Obama campaign, to make sure we voted. She lied to them, “we voted for Obama”. I told her she probably just contributed to the voter fraud meme.
Ignore the exit polls. He should stop even posting them. I know he’s trying to get people to his site so he gets paid but cryn out loud! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Anyway its looking good guys. Really good.
FoxNews has VA too close to call.
Romney has grabbed KY and IN
Obama has VT
IN is apparently a flip but not a surprise flip.
Romney has WV.
OH, NC too close to call.
Good news? Bad news?
Everything in so far is as was planned by both sides, except maybe CT, which went blue (but I never thought it was in play).
I’m hearing stuff that VA is too close to call.
Kit, they’re keeping 6-8 counties open til midnight. It’s a half & half there.
I only un-mute Fox when Rove is on. O’Reilly pissed me off so much I muted him in the middle of a WORD. He’s still in meltdown mode over the fact that Romney didn’t sit down & do an interview with him.
FL is encouraging me because it’s tied and the Repub western counties will be the last to be factored in. At least SOMEone learned from 04 and there was no “call” for FL early.
Ohio Dem counties wayyyyy down in turnout, per Rove.
Explain to me why NJ turned so blue in the face of non-response of govt. I think 2 years of Romney will at least color them purple.
Matt — why did Mack lose against the incumbent?
Rove is a genius. Spot on with your O’Reilly comment!
No results yet in Clark County, Nevada, but they said on the news that early voting had at least half the registered voters turn out, and the numbers today have us on track for 80+% voter turnout. That will be a record…never anywhere near that high a turnout here!
As the percentage reporting goes up in VA, I’m seeing counties switch between called for Romney to called for Obama, and vice versa. Albemarle county, where I live, was called for Romney, then switched to Obama. But at last check the difference was less then 300 votes.
A bit of shocking news: Charlottesville – home of the University of Virginia – went for President Poopey-Pants. UVA – educating the next generation of useful idiots.
Screw it. I’m going home, breaking out the Maker’s and sitting back for back-to-back Sons of Anarchy episodes (last week’s before tonight’s new one) and then looking at results. I already have enough
gray hairsnatural highlights. You drink Maker’s? Eww.
You don’t? Bah.
I’m going out on a limb here, but I’m guessing they’re gonna call Texas for Mitt.
They just did.
I’m calling Utah for Romney.
PA goes Obama.
Cr@p!
Ohio ain’t lookin’ good.
I’m starting to think Obama will win.
Florida is a dead heat. Ohio is moving to Obama.
Obama will probably win.
Wisconsin just went to the dark side…….the smell is increasing.
Looks like my pessimism was warranted.
Hold on…everything’s not in yet. Both sites I’m checking have Romney up 53 to 46 in Wisconsin. I’m no crazy optimist but if we could wait on the suicidal despair until they get it counted, I think we’ll be ok.
I’m going to watch Foyle’s War. At least I know who won that one.
Evening folks. Thanks for all your updates – I have no cable – have just been listening via the radio. So far, I have dusted, mopped my floors, moved my stove to clean behind that (ick) and I am now eying my refrigerator…I hate the suspense…where did I put that mop…
That’s probably the best way to keep updated. At least you’re doing something productive. Eric is half-way into a bottle of Maker’s Mark. Ugh. Everyone knows a good single malt whiskey is what’s needed for times such as these!
I feel like Charlie Brown stuck in a sincere pumpkin patch on Halloween.
It appears Scott Brown might be out and that insufferable idiot Warren will be a Senator.
Also Baldwin wins in Wisconsin.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand Donnelly beats Mourdock in Indiana. With an increasing chance for Obama winning, this is not good.
I cannot believe that Warren is the likely winner there. Usually, you have to wait until they are duly elected for your politicians to lie and cheat to your face.
Preach it sister. Really that shouldn’t be a surprise. I wonder what Brown will do now. For all his moderate blustering where did it get him? I’m guessing he’ll just exit politics.
Our country deserves what’s coming if the douchebag in chief is reelected
Hey, at least if you work for the press you get four more years of vacation.
Yup, and we re-elected him. Yeah us!!
One way tickets to Australia…anyone?
Hope is still alive …. but it’s got Obamacare and they may decide to just give it a pain pill!
Commentarama has gone bye-bye, Threedonia. What have you got left?
VA, OH and FL.
God Willing.
On the upside, we can still celebrate. The Election is Over!
Now we can go back to our miserable, humdrum lives.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxffBXIPOcg&feature=g-all-u
And Ohio fucked us.
Give me one good reason — ONE — not to end it tonight.
I’d rather be in hell than in America.
“KBO!” -Winston Churchill
I know what that acronym means, I just don’t have the will to do it anymore. I am broken. I am completely broken.
Well, SKYFALL comes out later this weekend.
As politely as I can possibly phrase it: Who gives a fuck?
We’re all still in this together, Jake, and you’ve got a bunch of people here who would miss you. That’s the best reason I can give and I hope it means enough.
Under ordinary circumstances, it would be enough, but these are extraordinary circumstances.
I know I’d be missed if I was gone, but compared to the all-encompassing misery which is about to face everyone I know regardless of what might happen to me, it would be a mere drop in the sea.
I hate to bring this up – but as far as misery and survival – please consider the Holocaust survivors. I’d say they completely upend the scales on misery. Those who DID survive, considered the very act of survival a victory – as it was, indeed.
God loves you Jake, and so do we!
Yup. OH goes Obama. It will be a close one, popular vote wise but I bet team Obama and his supporters will call this a mandate. So maybe 326 to 209 Obama/Romney, or if FL breaks Romney’s way it will be 297 to 238 Obama.
Axelrod gets to keep his mustache.
And IA puts it over the top for Obama.
Akin loses. No big surprise although probably one of the worst self destructive flubs of all time as he would have clearly coasted to victory.
Requiscat in pacem, America.
Well, Ohio has been called for Obama.
I feel a kind of relief now.
4 more years!
2 more years!
Never give up!
I’m going to bed.
I am not looking forward to reading my Facebook feed tomorrow.
This Stuttering Clusterfuck of a Miserable Failure (tm AceHQ) will be impeached over Benghazi, and Joe Biden will be President.
Possibly the most frightening part of this.
People voted for free stuff. And fear of being racist.
I am a single woman and am pretty fucking embarrassed for the single women who voted for this piece of shit.
Wait, we got to 61 in the Senate for conviction on impeachment?
Congratulations. Your team now OWNS the coming sh_t storm!
Congratulations indeed, BarryO. Since you’ve twice now approved of a President who stokes class division vis a vis taking from the rich and/or more well off, for your added prize, Brooke and I will be moving in with you and your family in January. Not sure if you recall, but I’m quite the snorer, so please plan the bedroom scenario accordingly.
I sincerely hope your namesake in the White House can pull this country through.
He’s done quite the job pulling it apart, and with Valerie Jarrett threatening even further revenge on all who opposed the President, just makes our jobs as loyal (yet peaceful) opposition all the more fun.
….to which I say bring it, BITCH!
All that aside, he is the President. Like it or not many many citizens will look to him for leadership.
Not to be flip – but, to those citizens… good luck with that.
Bright side: We still have the House of Representatives.
Who knows? Maybe we’ll finally have a budget this year.
My birthday is later this week, I already got the James Bond DVD Collection from my brother. (Greatest Brother in the Whole World!)
We plan on going to Disney World around either Thanksgiving or Christmas.
Hey! Just remember, “The Sun’ll come out, tomorrow.”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yop62wQH498
The sun’ll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow
There’ll be sun!
Just thinkin’ about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs,
And the sorrow
‘Til there’s none!
When I’m stuck a day
That’s gray,
And lonely,
I just stick out my chin
And Grin,
And Say,
Oh!
The sun’ll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
‘Til tomorrow
Come what may
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!
You’re always
A day
A way!
More good news: A friend of mine is about to give birth soon.
Republicans should stop ending their speeches with “God Bless America”. It’s obvious we have pissed away those blessings. Instead we should end our speeches with “God save the United States of America”. Our efforts have failed , it’s in God’s hands.
The final note, we have paid for the sin of slavery and prejudice twice now, I’ll hear no more of that crap. Now, free ice cream for everyone our great-grand children will pay for it. 2016, 21 trillion in debt, half of that from Obama, it will still be Bush’s fault. And jake, hell will not be saved, but God may yet save the USA.
Rove, still says not so fast…..stay tuned
God may yet save us. The question is whether he will make the effort. (Of course, no one deserves the effort. That, in the end, makes Christ’s sacrifice — if that’s truly what it was — even more of a mystery to me.)
It is the mystery of the ages, selfish fat little children, lord knows what he sees in us. What he wants is what he cannot create, love freely given, faith tried in the fire. Well the fire just got a whole bunch more fuel, the faith will be further refined. Let the faithful remnant persevere, until the intervention, it will come.
And there’s your reason not to end it all….
Amen!
Well, in the unlikely event that He does exist and all that stuff is the truth (I can’t lie to you: what little faith I have has been severely shaken), I think what happened today is just the result of Him saying to Himself: “F__k it. Let them burn. It’s the only way any of them will ever understand — and some of them never will.”
To quote Joel Hodgson: “I feel like I just got finished listening to Lou Reed’s Metal Machine Music. My brain feels clean as a whistle.”
A friend of mine on Facebook: “Ladies and gentlemen, we now have our current president for a second term. May the odds be ever in your favor.”
Terrifying: Supreme Court.
Dammit.
The “conservative” members, there, better stay healthy.
Aye, there’s the rub!
I think I am in the Acceptance phase now.
I sorta flipper between denial and bargaining for a bit. Denial, bargaining, denial, bargaining, etc. etc.
Had a bit of anger for a bit, kicked a box in my room when I realized that Obama had a 2nd term.
Then there was some depression, too.
So, yeah, in about 2 hrs I have gone through the 5 steps of grief.
Either that or I am in a faux-Acceptance, you know, the kind of denial that makes you think you have reached acceptance. In which case I will most likely crash sometime in the next 24 hrs.
Happy day!
Eh. Just skip all that five/seven stage crap. I went right from anger to acceptance.
I hope the POTUS shuts down coal. PA needs a strong dose of medicine for voting blue. Down with coal and fracking. It is high tme these union types be made to feel the consequences of screwing the rest of us over.
I will pay the higher electric bill to see those MF’ers go down.
Yup. I’d agree to that.
And Chris Christie is done in the Republican Party. All that ass-kissing, and people there are still waiting for assistance.
I can’t believe Tucker Carlson was right about him.
Well, I’ve got at least one more tree that can come down, for winter heat.
“I hope the POTUS shuts down coal. PA needs a strong dose of medicine for voting blue. Down with coal and fracking. It is high tme these union types be made to feel the consequences of screwing the rest of us over.”
I actually agree, here.
Amen, amen, amen. Again, I say, amen!
And in a bit of local news. Maryland approves gay marriage on a margin of 2 to 1. Also we have our own state version of the DREAM Act, which I assume was a closer vote as the news agencies aren’t 100% clear on its numbers. Expanded gambling is up in the air.
Anyone else have any interesting State or local questions/referendums?
Virginia will amend it’s constitution to strengthen property rights in the face of the Kelo v. City of New London supreme court decision.
Foxnews.com has ohio called for OB, And romney up 20K with 78% reporting. Romney’s lost, but it’s not right to bury someone still breathing, but we’re all getting obamacare, soon, and that maybe the new procedure.
No upside to this. Not even for most Obama voters, but most of them will never notice.
You’re forgeting free phones and condoms.
Looks like another four years of the cretin. So much for optimism.
It will be interesting to see the Liberal reaction if Romney ends up winning the popular vote. Somehow all that talk about reforming the Electoral College will come to an end and I have a feeling we’ll see some revenge talk for the 2000 election.
May God grant us that simple gift.
Yeah that’s all folks, time to go get the sleep of the doomed. I’ve got to go to work today to pay enough taxes to buy lots of free condoms for college students, the poor put upon dearies.
Eventually with all the free condoms, you’d think we’d out populate them at some point, right?
You’d think we already should have considering the rate they’ve been murdering their babies in the womb!
Tweet from Adam Baldwin: “he Lord prevails. Mere politics remains a #LongWar. The fight never ends for Liberty. Start to truly worry if ever Texas turns Blue.”
Or, as one wise Sage said: “Pain or damage don’t end the world. Or despair, or fucking beatings. The world ends when you’re dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man… and give some back.”
h/t to John Nolte 4 yrs ago after the election.
Let us be the Happy Warriors.

Last one and it is nearly half past midnight so time for rest. Women broke hard for Obama.
“War on Women” scam worked.
We need to undermine it next year.
Well, on the plus side, this helped clear up some of my plans for the next few years. No reason to go back to the USA now as I still won’t be able to find a job. I’m also glad I held off on buying US dollars with my Taiwanese dollars because it’s only going to get worse.
I think I’m going to do do some investing in China over the next couple of years.
Oddly enough, even though I don’t live in the USA and have my permanent residency card in Taiwan, I’m still going to have to pay for Obamacare. There’s always a chance all the smoking and lobster will fix the problem for us, but I’m pretty sure God’s had enough of the USA at this point and isn’t really interested in helping us out anymore.
I think I’m in agreement with one of the comments I saw here about a positive being that maybe 4 more years will make things so bad, they won’t elect a democrat for the next 20.
“Succisa virescit”
Also, Ryan/West 2012!
Ummm, Alan West lost…
Cheap lying conservative pollsters and pundits.Fuck every one of them to hell.
Wanna blame Ron Paul?Who lost the Missouri and Indiana Senate races? The Pee Pee Party!
I just posted this on FB. Here is my view:
I have not heard any fat ladies singing yet!
God is in control, no matter what goes on. Our duty as Christians is to trust and obey the Lord! Our Lord and Master will do for His followers, what is best for them. We all allowed this to happen, in some form or another, by a missed vote, an ugly word, not speaking up against a wrong when we should not have remained silent. America is divided and the divide is deeply down the middle. Pray for the lost and pray for deliverance from the oncoming evil!
BTW, I’ve read the end of “The Book”…God wins!
DISCLAIMER: “God wins” must not be construed to imply, infer, or suggest the idea “America wins”.
I live in the USA…I lost!
Two quotes:
?”America did not die tonight. America was born tonight.” -Bill Whittle
“You can always count on Americans to do the right thing – after they’ve tried everything else.” -Sir Winston Churchill
I’ll light a cigar for “God”…He and I can puff away and have a few beers too.
Utter disaster for the Mild Old Party.
Good news! We won’t have to listen to 4 years of Romney bitching and moaning about all the problems his predecessor left him. And we will finally get to find out what’s on the Campaigner-in-Chief’s agenda for a second term.
I tried to be a pessimist, but this was even worse than I expected. Just how did the Stupid Party manage to actually lose Senate seats, and mostly in supposedly “red states”? For example, the Dems are gonna shut down “fracking”, and the idiot NoDaks just increased that vote total.
And I don’t remember who said this, but it seems to sum up the day for me– “without stupidity, the GOP wouldn’t have any leaders, and the Democrats not have any voters.”
And on that note, I agree with Jake. Screw it. I think this country deserves what it’s about to get, and to get it good and hard. I’m close to retirement age, and at this point my goal is to avoid the coming shitstorm and to hide what I can in order keep looters like BarryO from stealing any more from me.
Want Obama,USA?Well take him go to hell.
and
(And incidentally, this is me — exactly four years ago.)
Trying again.
Screw it.

I’d feel better if you change your alias to, “Jake Is Here!”
Yes, please.
And the revised version, originally recorded at a point in the 2012 race when I genuinely didn’t see a bright side to anyone winning.
