Today on Facebook I learned that, not only does every member of my family think I’m a homophobe bigot (I knew that already), they also think I’m a bigot for supporting Israel.
My enthusiasm for roasting them a turkey when they come to my house for Thanksgiving is waning.

It’s very simple, Lars. When Jews get attacked, they shouldn’t defend themselves. They should just lay down and let the enemy steamroll over them. And if you disagree with that, then you’re a bigot.
How come men can’t be men anymore? Regardless of ones religious beliefs, it’s instictually taboo for men to even think of men doing … that. I have a few gay friends and they’re great people, but the act (and thought of it) is repulsive to me.
It’s a new taboo. I even heard a talk show host (whom I respect) claiming that conservatives aren’t repelled by the idea of homosexuality, that our objections are purely rational and prudential. It’s just not true, at least for a lot of men. The idea of two guys getting it on gives me the creeps. I have rational and prudential objections too, but as a straight man I’m viscerally repelled. I WAS BORN THIS WAY! DON’T JUDGE ME!
We remember tattoos and camping were also on this list too. But I don’t remember the viscerally repelled response to camping. Double standard?
