Tonight in my Evidence course we’ll be talking some about interrogation and Miranda v. Arizona (Ernest Miranda mugshot above).

Cowboys and the Texans win. The Mayans must be right.
We can only hope … yeah, I’m feeling my dark side these days.
Only 1 game back of NY!Beagles 3-6…har har!
Night guys. What a messed up crappy day… Luv ya all.
Hugs see you in the am/pm
Stephanie, hugs from Wyoming with sympathy and condolences.
Thank you….getting ready to leave tomorrow…I think. Its all a mess. Priest wont be able to tell us when he can do the funeral till tomorrow morning because he’s on a day off. Saturday or Monday. Memorial, Funeral, Burial…no wake. Why? Avoiding the discomfort of being around people who shouldn’t even be there and I could name a bunch.
Recently watched Andy Garcia’s labor of love film, The Lost City on Netflix streaming, about Cuba in the ’50s and its fall to Che and Castro. A bit lengthy, but very well-made and gorgeously filmed, like an old-fashioned Hollywood epic. It’s heartbreaking to see how beautiful and prosperous that country was (despite Batista’s corruption) before the communists self-righteously took it over and ruined it so thoroughly. I pray we’re not heading toward the same precipice ourselves.
Good guy, good family man.Hope he gets to see his homeland one day.

So you want to get back at another driver?Fine, but how many other drivers you have no beef with are going to get sucked in?
You cover the “Christian Burial” case,Floyd?
Spent part of last evening watching the Firefly 10yr table talk. I like Firefly, but I’m not a Fanatic so I don’t know the word on the street. Is it coming back someday?
My understanding is that Nathan would do it in a second, but it’s unlikely that it’s coming back. Sad, I enjoyed it a lot.
On a first name basis now, hm?
Yes. There is only one Nathan in the entire world. We also still believe there’s a chance to win the election and food off my kids plate doesn’t contain calories. Wanna come live in my world?
I do.
This comment confused me until i realized you hadn’t been peeking through Rufus’s kitchen window.
And where is all this voter fraud stuff going?
I’m not a violent man, but after 21 years of working semi-close with law enforcement people, I sometimes feel that Miranda caused a lot more problems than it helped. I know there are exceptions to nearly every rule, but sometimes, when circumstances are right, the good cop-bad cop(with a rubber hose and a nightstick) scenario can be a good way to learn the whole truth!
I’m always amused when the coppers end the foot chase by pouncing upon the fleeing felon while yelling out Miranda. And then they drive him (or her) to jail at 20 mph with code three lights and sirens in effect. Hooray for Hollywood.
Miranda is an anachronism, a simple phrase that is embedded with opportunities for twisted loop
chasmsholes.I used to joke that my purpose as English teacher was to ensure that certain of my students understood Miranda. I was proven correct a few times.
I didn’t know he had “HO” tattooed on his forehead.
That’s short for “honor student.”
I always say that if my students learn only one thing, it’s that “a lot” is two words.
Yep. I used to write the following on the board to introduce the lesson:
adozen afew abunch abundle
Here at Threedonia, we could use “ashitload.”
One of my favorite movie moments is from Red Heat, when Ahnold, a Russian cop who has just been lectured on American due process, is being harassed by a hooligan.
Arnold: “Do you know Miranda?”
Hooligan: “Never heard of the bitch!”
Arnold: *punches him out*
Coffee! Hopefully Magnus will bring the bacon!
Magnus is MIA. OIHO hasn’t fallen into the lake has it?
Tickle me!

Haven’t watched the show yet, waiting to read the book first (which I will after I re-read LOTR and The Hobbit)
I’ve only seen Season 1 from Netflix. I really enjoyed it. I look forward to reading the books and watching Season 2 & 3.
Is anyone else experiencing the automatic audio commercials every time this site is refreshed? New feature, Floyd?
Yeah, I’m getting that.
OK. Glad I asked. Thought I was crazy. I listen to talk radio while I blog and chew gum. The Taylor Swift perfume ad is really annoying.
However, the ads are very short. I’ll live.
me too — don’t know what it is. I’m trying to find out.
Now they’re in Spanish. Que comercial!!
Phew,thought it were jes me!
I noticed it too and started making sure my speakers were off.
I’m not. Wonder if it makes a difference that I use Safari and have very strict permissions on Flash Player.
Cell Phone
Wipe the handset surface with a dampened microfiber cloth to eliminate fingerprints and dust. But if it’s still sticky, mix one cup of water with one drop of mild detergent to wipe off and then rinse area (not the screen) with a clean dampened cloth. Don’t spray anything into the handset or keys.
Sticky? Who are you calling?
Come, come, TCR – I’m sure the answer you seek is at hand.
You misspelled “come.”
Yet you still got the jist of it.
Hhhmmm … quite the slippery slope I’ve created here. Get a hold of yourself and then just let it go. Best you pull out of this while you can. And please don’t beat it to death; that would be anti-climatic.
Done.
Dang, you two need to supply the rest of us with fans if we are going to read your conversations.
Use a microfiber cloth.
Yes…I agree with Tink. It’s starting to sound like Penthouse Forum around here. I’ll bet you two even have microfiber underwear!
He started it. (What underwear?)
Oh!…you too?
Moi? I hardly started anything…and since you came to an abrupt ending, I’m feeling rather blue.
See 1:10 p.m. above.
You are the master of your own fate if you’re willing to take the bait.
Aye, there’s the rub — I just can’t seem to think outside of the box.
You should do as Billy Clinton did: quit while you’re ahead.
Fritz, when the posts start out with, “I never thought this would happen to me…” then it’s the Penthouse Forum.
“I never thought this would happen to Outlaw…”
Or “You’ll never believe this, but…”
“I never thought this would happen to me…” ——-> ["I think about this happening to me all the time ..."]
Fantasmic!
Cell Phone
Crush under foot
Scotch
Pour through microfiber cloth
funny
So it’s the microfiber contamination, not the actual cell phone that causes cancer. I knew it!
So, guess it’s safer to strain your scotch through cheesecloth.
Just don’t train your crotch through cheesecloth!
You mean like roll over & play dead? Or beg? Or shake?
Down girl! It could be strain, stain, or train. Stay!
ok … i’ll refrain … *o*
This made me chuckle, and given how lousy I’ve been feeling the past few days that wasn’t easy:
Graves found during excavation for UVA Cemetery Expansion.
Well, I guess it’s not really an expansion then, is it?
Unintended exhumation. But those people can really think on their feet:
Because of this discovery, the University will begin exploring alternative sites for expansion …
So they’re not going to expand the cemetery to an area where dead people are buried. Whaaa?!? Well, the Charlottesville area went some 70/30 for Obama thanks, no doubt, to the numerous useful idiots at UVA – students, faculty, and staff.
We have a dog and a cat buried on our property as well as something else: My husband dug up an old bone and thought it would be fun to take with him to his appointment with the doctor. When the doctor came in to the examining room he held up the bone and said, “look doc, this fell out of my pants, is it something I really need?” The doctor laughed, took it and looked it over and said no you don’t need that but I suggest you go bury it where you found it, it’s an old knee bone and I’m guessing you have an Indian burial plot on your property, don’t tell anyone or your property might be taken by some Government bunch to make an archeological dig out of it.
What?? Does Senator Warren know about this?
No, Only Threedonia people, I trust y’all.
Mum’s the word. I’ll keep it under my arms.
Union-run United Parcel Service denies Boy Scouts of America access to UPS Foundation grants because BSA doesn’t want scout leaders with a same-sex attraction around young boys.

If you support BSA, may I humbly suggest you ship this year’s Christmas packages via Fed Ex.
DC, I’m in conniptions about the recent revelations about the BSA pedophile cover up. What’s happening to us?
“Stay away from my guy,” Paula Broadwell to Holly Petraeous. Oh, wait …
Unless you make a mean video. Then it’s curtains, I tell ya!!
Just saw SKYFALL. Pretty good origin story for James Bond. Javier Bardem was a great villain.
I recommend it!
2 notes on Sam Mendes’ direction:
-Unlike Quantum’s Marc Forster, Mendes can actually film an action scene without editing the hell out of it. The opening scene alone proves it.
-This is probably the most beautifully shot Bond movie.
Also, the whole “young Q” idea works pretty well. Instead of trying to top Desmond Llewelyn they just went another direction. And it works.
Oh, good. I really need a break from all the public drama. Bardem is the quintessential villain in No Country for Old Men, so I’m sure his equally amoral self in Skyfall is fantastic. Tanks, K!!
