Stargate 1994
An interstellar teleportation device, found in Egypt, leads to a planet with humans resembling ancient Egyptians who worship the god Ra.
Director: Roland Emmerich. Cast: Kurt Russell, James Spader, Alexis Cruz. TV-PG. 6:45 PM EST. Sundance Channel.
Stargate is an under appreciated (at least compared to Star Trek and Star Wars) sci-fi franchise and this movie is often forgotten in its various TV incarnations. Chalk this down as a movie I really liked in the theater but for whatever reason have never seen again. I’ll rectify that tomorrow.

I wasn’t expecting much from this, plus I honestly couldn’t care less about Ancient Egypt, but this was a truly excellent film. And I like the series (SG-1 and Atlantis) even better.
Atlantis was meh. SG-1 and Universe were both very good.
Also loved this in the theatre, and considering I don’t have Sundance Channel, do believe it’s time to head to the Threedonia Amazon store.
Love this movie, although it kinda falls apart in the end with all the fighting.
One of my favorite movie soundtracks, too.
