What Price Hollywood? (1932)
A drunken director whose career is fading helps a waitress become a Hollywood star.
Dir: George Cukor. Cast: Constance Bennett, Lowell Sherman, Neil Hamilton. TV-PG 8:00 PM EST. TCM.
This film is the source of the many Hollywood versions of A Star is Born though it’s not as musical as the others. I’ve not seen it but since I like the 1937 and 1954 versions of A Star is Born I’m going to DVR this one. Also on TCM tomorrow are prior CPODs — and in my Top 5: The Caine Mutiny (2:45 PM) and Anatomy of a Murder (5:00 PM).
