The Left Lays Some Cable

I’m not a huge fan of a lot of FOXNews, but I still find this to be disturbing, if true.

Brian Stelter of The New York Times reports that MSNBC is finally starting to catch up to Fox News in the rating game, mainly by becoming the left-wing answer to Fox’s conservative cheerleaders. Stelter says MSNBC, which normally trails Fox News in overall ratings, managed to best their cable rival in the key 25-54 year-old demographic on three straight nights after last week’s election. MSNBC still trails behind Fox and CNN in the number of overall viewers , but has closed the gap considerably in the recent years, by accepting their role as “the Anti-Fox News.”

The re-election of Barack Obama will only help MSNBC keep the ball rolling, as hosts like Rachel Maddow and Chris Matthews have become unapologetic supporters of “Obama’s America” and stand to benefit from four more years of his liberal politics.

Three days of ratings doesn’t equal a victory of course. The impact may be negligible as lefties already dominate media and we lost FOX as a reliable conservative when Shepard Smith found a mangina in New Orleans after Katrina. It’s not like FOX was helping us win elections.

I take this as one more bit if evidence (the result of the last election as a HUGE piece of evidence) that the notion America remains a “center-right”, or even “conservative”, nation, which so many on the Right have asserted for the past several years, is just so much nonsense.

At best America is center-Left, with a heaping dose of nihilist nitwits wandering around like so many mindless zombies along the middle of the road all claiming to be “moderate”.

At least you now openly admit that FOX is biased and a shill for conservatives.

    • BarryO… FOX has an editorial bias. No one has ever doubted or denied that. They do separate their news from their opinion — which CNN and MSNBC does not. The fact that you refuse to say what we all know — that left-libs control — dominate the media shows you’re full of shit and willing to make cheap points but not be intellectually honest.

That you want a nation where people can deny reality and be celebrated for ir tells me all I need to know about your worldview.

Wow, Floyd, you are spot on. I saw Shemp reporting on Katrina from NO on a bridge when he saw two police officers. He skipped over to them and shoved the mic in their faces and lamented, “Officers!! What are going to do about this?? Why don’t you do something, anything? Huh? Huh?” The police officers used good judgment not to shove the mic up his @ss and chose to walk away without comment.

Since then, Shemp is nothing to me. I flip the channel to Hoveround infomercials whenever he’s on.

  • OF COURSE that miserable-ass network got great ratings after the election — lib fucktards tuning in to gloat, while conservatives were hunting down razor blades & Ambien.
