Peace and Goodwill Toward All…Unless You Own A Gun (legally)

Merry Christmas gun permit holders in three counties of New York. Your information has been printed in THIS NEWSPAPER along with a helpful interactive map.

The map indicates the addresses of all pistol permit holders in Westchester and Rockland counties. Each dot represents an individual permit holder licensed to own a handgun — a pistol or revolver. The data does not include owners of long guns — rifles or shotguns — which can be purchased without a permit. Being included in this map does not mean the individual at a specific location owns a weapon, just that they are licensed to do so.

Data for all permit categories, unrestricted carry, premises, business, employment, target and hunting, is included, but permit information is not available on an individual basis.

To create the map, The Journal News submitted Freedom of Information requests for the names and addresses of all pistol permit holders in Westchester, Rockland and Putnam. By state law, the information is public record.

Putnam is still putting together its records and could not immediately provide any data. The map will be updated when that data is released

I think if I didn’t have a permit I might be a little worried that criminals would be doing their research. On the other hand what does it matter what people do if it is a perfectly legal activity? Some people have retaliated by printing the name and address of the editor of the newspaper on-line. I wouldn’t stoop to her level, but that info is out there if you are so inclined to find it.

I worry about the kind of nation we live in where people think that this is appropriate behavior.

Meanwhile a 12 year old girl in Oklahoma defends herself. No word on what self-rightous assholes in the northeast have to say about that.

Considering what was seen during the Prop 8 fight in NY, I would not be surprised if the businesses where these people worked got calls demanding they be fired.

Reminds me of this verse from the musical EVITA:
“How annoying that they have to fight elections for their cause
The inconvenience, having to get a majority
If normal methods of persuasion fail to win them applause
There are other ways of establishing authority”

Nazis in WWII Germany used to turn in their friends and neighbors for breathing wrong. USSR, Soviets used to do the same thing! America under(?) Obama is turning out to be a like a bad case of the clap. Don’t want it and can’t get rid of it!!!

Obama is Schmuck und unwiderstehliches !

  • Okay – my blood pressure’s up! Our local paper wanted to do the same thing with CC holders – our sheriff DIDN’T oblige.

Like was mentioned before, this is kind of a blessing and a curse. Curse because it’s no one’s damn business, but blessing because now you know you won’t get robbed. If I were going to rob someone I would choose someone NOT on that list.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer used to print the entire state data base of concealed carry permits in their paper, and then they would reap a bunch of journalism rewards for bravery. It didn’t occur to them that many of the people whose addresses they printed were living in fear of their lives.
