10 hours of cold rain followed by 6 hours of snow. Up here in Denton, we have about 1-2″ on the ground, with ice underneath. The BSA HQ is closed, so even if I wasn’t sick I wouldn’t be out on the roads — not that I would’ve been anyway, as I do not drive when the roads are icy. Or better said, others can’t drive on the ice, so I refuse to allow myself to be a target.
goozer, Merry Christmas. Will you please tell me the web site to change my avatar again? I promise I’ll save it somewhere I can find it this time. Duh.
Goozer, rarely does one get to see idiots get what’s coming to them, but last night while driving back from my brothers house, two people went flying past me like I was standing still. About a half a mile ahead when they attempted to cross the Trinity River, they spun-out, hit each other and then the guard rail…I assume nobody was hurt as by the time I got up to them they were attempting to get going again.
I saw at least 6 cars in the ditch going from Fort Worth to Los Colinas at 6PM last night.
The ice has melted from the roads now, at least around DFW airport, so if you have to get out…it’s just cold now.
Oh, I know, Outlaw — I have had the ‘pleasure’ of watching Darwin Award contestants many times while on the roads around here — but the last time was in 2000 when one of them almost took me out, just missing my car by thatmuch! So now, I just watch it on the news. Like last night’s Fox 4 live shot from the High 5!
We still have ice and snow on my street and alley, of course. I blame AlGore.
Being retired and having a wife who is a lot younger than I, and her working, has taught me that I am making myself a very good wife for her. I cook, clean, do the pool…I do it all, except I don’t do windows!
It’s snowing in West Las Vegas, and flurries down here in Green Valley(Henderson). Since yesterday was Christmas, Santa has pulled up his drawers and is going back to being the “kindly” Colonel!
Well, it’s all clear now. No snow and 44 degrees, which is about 44 degrees below my desert comfort level! I need to get my Julio persona on and clean the filters and the pool, but no way Jose’! I almost broke a nipple this morning it was so cold before sun up! Yes…a nipple!
I’m probably a nut, but I like LA. I guess I’m a big city kid at heart, even though I love the country. LA is always beautiful as far as I’m concerned. If it were anyplace but in California I’d move there!

It snowed yesterday in the DFW area, who knows when it will be safe to go to work today…if at all.
I heard you guys got lots of ice. Drive safe!

It’s a great city to visit, but living there is a whole different story.
