Think “Judgement at Nuremberg” in Japan; the kind of war-era morality tale that Hollywood used to make so well, back when filmmakers cared about war, or morality.
As I recall,the US occupation headquarters in Tokyo was in the home of the Dai Ichi Insurance Company(Dai Ishi means Number One in Japanese).The Japanese were absolutely shocked that we did not come in and kill every last one of them…what they would have done to us.

My Dad smoked Chesterfields. Quit at 76 and died at 89.
