The world’s a little less funky with the passing of the Ohio Players’ Leroy “Sugarfoot” Bonner at age 69. Prayers and condolences to his family and friends, plus some fine words from the man his bad self, the first sentence which would look real nice on his gravestone, too:

I lost my
cherryhearing to “Love Rollercoaster”. Me and and buddy of mine threw the platter on his dad’s monster hi-fi with the 5-ft. tower speakers trying to hear the girl being murdered in the studio.My tinnitus is an everlasting ringing tribute to Sugarfoot and the rest of the Players. RIP.
