For all you fellers who still haven’t figured out women, don’t understand them, don’t know what they really want, I found a book that explains it all. And the good news is that it’s available in paperback. You’re welcome.
I just watched the video clip. It reminded me of why I never watched Blah & Odor. Really bad acting, implausible scenario, audience insult-a-thon. Duh.
Here’s the coffee…and something to read while you sip!

TOP-11 “ONLY IN AMERICA” OBSERVATIONS — BY A CANADIAN*
1) Only in America could the rich people – who pay 86% of all income
taxes – be accused of not paying their “fair share” by people who
don’t pay any income taxes at all.
2) Only in America could people claim that the government still
discriminates against black Americans when they have a black
President, a black Attorney General, and roughly 18% of the federal
workforce is black while only 12% of the population is black
3) Only in America could they have had the two people most responsible
for our tax code, Timothy Geithner, the head of the Treasury
Department and Charles Rangel who once ran the Ways and Means
Committee, BOTH turn out to be tax cheats who are in favor of higher
taxes.
4) Only in America can they have terrorists kill people in the name of
Allah and have the media primarily react by fretting that Muslims
might be harmed by the backlash.
5) Only in America would they make people who want to legally become
American citizens wait for years in their home countries and pay tens
of thousands of dollars for the privilege while we discuss letting
anyone who sneaks into the country illegally just ‘magically’ become
American citizens.
6) Only in America could the people who believe in balancing the
budget and sticking by the country’s Constitution be thought of as
“extremists.”
7) Only in America could you need to present a driver’s license to
cash a check or buy alcohol, but not to vote.
8) Only in America could people demand the government investigate
whether oil companies are gouging the public because the price of gas
went up when the return on equity invested in a major U.S. oil company
(Marathon Oil) is less than half of a company making tennis shoes
(Nike).
9) Only in America could the government collect more tax dollars from
the people than any nation in recorded history, still spend a Trillion
dollars more than it has per year – for total spending of $7-Million
PER MINUTE, and complain that it doesn’t have nearly enough money.
10) Only in America could politicians talk about the greed of the rich
at a $35,000.00 a plate campaign fund-raising event.
11) Only in America can a man with no background, no qualifications
and no experience … and a complete failure at his job … be
reelected.”
Bravo! And only in America can 92% of black voters vote for a black man over a white man and
their racism go unchallenged, but if 92% of white voters voted for a white man over a black man there would be riots and legislation.
Glenn Beck on Twitter: “Newest member of the Westboro Baptist Church: Ron Paul. I am with Marcus Latrell & grieving family members. Will respond tomorrow. SHAMEFUL.”
Ouch. Ron Paul, you just got owned. Gotta love that hot libertarian-on-libertarian action.
So I asked a friend who’s boys are Boy Scouts about all the BSA stuff. She said that there hadn’t been any non-church charters renewed, but almost all church ones had, so for the most part, they were preparing ahead of time for it to be more based through religious organizations. Churches still have more freedom on how they run stuff than other organizations, so turning it over to the local level isn’t as much of a weak decision as it may seem. She also said that the decision wasn’t final but there were financial considerations, so if you really want to see the BSA win, don’t pull your donations, though you might consider giving at the local instead of at the national level. Make of it what you will, but there is a troop mom perspective.
Good points, Tracy. I’ll see if my church has a Scout troop & direct some $ directly there if possible and if I can be assured that it adheres to the traditional Scout values.
Your friend will be sorely disappointed to learn that the proposed change in policy will indeed affect EVERY troop — unless her troop does not ever plan on going to the Jamboree or other multi-council gatherings where the deviants will be cheek-and-jowl with everyone else. And eventually, since the National Board will no longer be the primary target for the inevitable lawsuits from those wanting to join the so-called ‘autonomous’ councils, just how long do you think it will be until one of those suits is successful? Or just as likely, another Board in the future decides to make the Scouts compliant with so-called ‘anti-discrimination’ policies.
The camel’s ass is in the tent — the money has been spent.
I do realize that it’s not a good thing. I do realize it’s giving ground. What I’m saying is that it may not be an immediate disaster that should cause everyone to pull donations and run. Our local Mormon church troop (I’m not even sure that’s what it’s called, so correct me if needed) doesn’t accept non-Mormons. The homeschool one doesn’t accept public school kids. They are already selecting members based on belief, and in the homeschool case, it’s not even religious belief(at least I don’t think so). If charters are only granted to churches that believe homosexuality is a sin, then it stands to reason that will at least slow it all down. And they will be more able to fight those coming law suits if all their donations haven’t been pulled.
I watched Netflix’s new political series House of Cards with Kevin Spacey. I was waiting for a sucker punch that never came. They didn’t deal with party affiliations but the POTUS is a squishy moderate who screws over Spacey for Sec. of State to leave him in the House as Majority Whip. Spacey gets pissed and goes on the warpath.
It looks promising so far — the issues seem to be mere plot points and the first episode didn’t preach anything except don’t screw with Rep. Spacey or his wife. And I think they’re Democrats given that he had to work with a “Left of Marx” Congressman on an education bill.
I’ve watched two episodes and don’t know if it’s going anywhere, but I’ll watch a couple of more to see if he gets going. It’s not preachy, and I agree he may be a Democrat from his blue tie collection. If that’s so, then the amount of sleazy deals and power plays would seem to subtley preach against them. Unless in this age of transparency, they’re actually proud of those tactics.
I’m only one in. It got off to a good start I thought, though it is going to be inside baseball and thus might drag. I tried watching the Kelsey Grammar one on Showtime or whatever and I just couldn’t get into it. I just don’t see municipal politics as life or death (Chicago, New York, Philly, and Boston notwithstanding)

First.
That’s the Tax Code!
Same difference. You have to pay either way.
Women want shoes…mystery of life solved.
I’m a cowgirl boot hoo-er. Turn it up!!!
Bay Area Rapid Transit
Jeez Louise, those boots are too gay even for Texans
On you, maybe; on me, fabulous. I like to don gay apparel!! (Just no flannel shirts, please).
You in just boots,Texi, you probably would look fabulous…just an educated guess on my part.
Don’t be ridiculous. I’d have to wear socks, too.
Plaid socks,if you must.
Argyle.

What’s wrong with a flannel shirt and boots? Besides, aren’t you always talking about your flannel ‘nightshirts’?
I think you made that point quite well!
Negatory. I talk about flannel “nighties.” Big difference:
My lingerie drawer.
Is Grizzly Adams your brother?
You mean Sissy?
I’m going with Scott on this one. Those boots are made for walking…in a gay pride parade!
A Boy Scout Jamboree in Las Vegas, perhaps
Not practical for parades. They’re too heavy; would inhibit the high stepping March.
Women are available in paperback as well…Playboy Mag.!
(Please don’t shoot the messenger!)
Not with an assault weapon,Fritz!
Assault rifle, deer rifle…no diff!
Or shooting those pesky skeets at Camp David!
“Assault rifle,
deerdear rifle…no diff!”FIFY, -fritz-!

Ooof. Can you please not say “cheek-and-jowl” when discussing this topic? Or maybe you should. It’s illustrative.
Yes. It’s all going to be the worst thing ever.

Boardwalk Empire does it well.
But then again, these municipal politics are 1920s Atlantic City, so. . .
Thanks for the heads up, guys. I was wondering about it but hadn’t yet given it a look.
