The legend is that the Apostles were pulled back to Galilee at this moment(the weeping woman is Mary Magdalene). This painting was too much even for the Romans at the turn of the 17th Century.
The Empress Catherine commissioned this from the French artist Falconet.Aside from the statue of Andrew Jackson in New Orleans,it is the greatest equestrian statue ever.
I was at San Francisco International Airport On Wednesday, the first time since the internal AirTrain was completed. As the photo shows, there are sliding doors that prevent anyone from jumping onto or being pushed onto the tracks. The doors open only after the train has stopped and its doors are open, an effective safety feature. And yeah, that’s a photo of me, and it’s real fur, too.
Hey…that’s just wrong! I mean Jimmy’s a great guy, but after all…I’m like Al Bundy…Married With Children!
I’m back early. The weather is so horrible today we couldn’t get any good pictures…my youngest son’s a photog. So we drove for quite a ways then came home and lit a fire in the fireplace!
Tempting, but Mrs. C’s got some German blood in her, so if I feel the need for corporal punishment I think I can find it a little closer to home than fritz’s house.
I never thought she was all that funny until I saw her as the boss on Better Off Ted. Some of the funniest comedic work by an actress I’ve ever seen. How she didn’t get an Emmy is beyond me.
Something I put up at Facebook after watching Whittle, Green, and Ott talk about the situation i Russia on PJTV’s Trifecta:
In Russia, volunteers and small charities step up to care for people abandoned by that former (?) communist state. How does Vladimir Putin, the former (?) FSB (state security successor to the KGB) director respond?
I just watched The Descendants (a DVD from Netflix). I’ve also listened to a couple of podcasts in which Jonah Goldberg gently berated conservatives for not accepting Hollywood wins when they find them. The Descendants is a film that beautifully presents some profoundly conservative themes. Especially, concerning love, loss, and family, and how one deals with adversity in the face of tragedy. If you haven’t seen The Descendants I highly recommend it.
… and if you are at all sensitive or have experienced the death of a loved one … have some tissues handy …
Yeah, George Cloooney’s a know-nothing, fat-headed liberal … so what … the dude can act!

Wake up in the middle of the night and turn on CBS…be happy
If I wake up in the middle of the night, it’s to get a drink of water or use “the facility.”
En suite, or outhouse?
Le backyard.
Under the stars is good!
Wow — you take your Furry “roleplaying” very seriously…
Life is serious. A serious life calls for serious “business.”
Incredible

Best paper in the world, seriously….Daily Mail
I’d argue for the WSJ, but Daily Mail is pretty good too.
What,Jimmy,not the Seattle Compost-Unintelligencer?

I did not realize you had such tiny little hands!
The better to pick your pocket, my dear. (But they still pack a mean slap!)
sooooooooo…you’re a Furry. 8-0
Yoj hacked my photo off Facebook, didn’t you?
you … the bus hit a pot hole.
I pwned ur page with my l337 h4x0r skillz, n00b.
(typing that actually made my head hurt…)
Well, if you’re gonna be one, it might as well be a glam one.
Furries beware of Ellen May!!!
HEE! No kidding – she’ll send your butt to the emergency room.
Elly May says to leave those furry critters alone!

How to end crime.
The Second Amendment, to protect life and property.
Coffee, krullers and concealed carry!
“The only way to fly!”
I’ll be out of town most of the day, so enjoy the peace and quiet while I’m gone. When I return, there will be spankings for you naughty ones!
As the 150 foul temptresses in Castle Anthrax said, “A spanking! A spanking!”
“But I WANT to face the peril!”
“Bet you’re gay!”
“Am not!”
You can have fritz, Jimmy. I’ll take Castle Anthrax and the temptresses.

So, JimmyC, are you saying you don’t
wanthave any German in you but your wife does? (Stay away from the liberry then).Nein, mein frau! I mean, nope, no German in me. I’m a different breed of mutt than her.
Out of town? Did Helga run off again?
She went off in search of our missing Magnus.
Hope she finds him, he has been gone far too long.
Helga is like Julio…a total mess since her intended, Magnus, took off. I ought to fix her up with Julio, since Tink doesn’t love him anymore!
I’m sure Tink doesn’t love him any less though.
Naw! The comment above explains. If any were bad, let the spankings begin! C’mon…fess up!
Mrs. DeGeneres is funny, too. And that show is hysterical!
I never thought she was all that funny until I saw her as the boss on Better Off Ted. Some of the funniest comedic work by an actress I’ve ever seen. How she didn’t get an Emmy is beyond me.
Ok. Is Ted on Netflix? I never saw it.
It was, I don’t know if it still is.
Pretty sure I saw it while leafing through the selections last night. Guess I need to add it to the queue at some point soon.
Yeah, it’s still on Netflix. If you get the chance, check it out- it’s one of those overlooked gems that’s well worth seeing.

“Legislation to regulate volunteers has been introduced in the State Duma, or lower house of parliament, by President Vladimir Putin’s United Russia party. Backers say it will ensure that volunteer activity conforms to the government’s priorities and doesn’t conflict with Kremlin policy.” – http://articles.washingtonpost.com/2013-02-02/world/36704762_1_volunteers-step-moscow-health-bureaucracy
Does this shock you? Make you think, ‘Glad I live in America, where this will never happen.’ Maybe. Then again… maybe not:
IRS audits of charitable organizations, under the Obama administration, are up 79%, while total number of tax returns from charities are down about 4%. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/02/04/IRS-Audits-of-Charities-Up-79-Under-Obama
Russia’s record on disability is abysmal, even after communism.
