Taking Out Florida’s Trash

A prisoner who escaped from FL Law Enforcement Officers in Grapevine, TX while being transported to Las Vegas was shot and killed by DFW area police officers.

From WFAA TV

GRAPEVINE — After an intensive four-day manhunt, fugitive Alberto Morales was shot and killed by three officers near Grapevine Lake late Friday night, according to Grapevine police.
“I’m just so elated,” said neighborhood resident Martha Eberlein. “I’m so happy; I’m so relieved that this man’s been caught and we don’t have to be on such a lookout.”

He escaped last Monday and had been hiding in a wooded area near Lake Grapevine, which is north of DFW airport.

Morales — considered armed and extremely dangerous — had been at large after stabbing Miami-Dade County Detective Jamie Pardinas with a pair of eyeglasses Monday night as he was in transit to Las Vegas for a trial.
Pardinas has just been released from treatment at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas and was said to be resting comfortably at an area hotel, where he is likely to remain for several more days until travel restrictions are lifted.
The violent escape happened in the parking lot of a Walmart store at the corner of Highway 26 and Highway 114 in Grapevine, about 2.6 miles south of where Morales was gunned down.
For days, fear and anxiety grew in Grapevine and surrounding cities after Morales eluded capture. Schools even went on lockdown multiple days this week as a precaution.
Neighbors told News 8 on Facebook and Twitter that they could hear gunshots late Friday night when police finally cornered Morales. One person said the fleeing felon was felled in a horse pasture near some boat houses at Lake Grapevine.

FL and NV, you’re welcome.

Saw this yesterday.I’m puzzled as to how he stabbed a Miami officer”with a pair of eyeglasses”.

He choose his location of escape poorly. I notice that he made it only 2.6 miles in 4 days and apparently did not even attempt to take over a home in a well populated area. Could it be he heard rumors of how well Texans are armed?

Thank you Texas for saving we in Nevada, the cost of the trial! :-)

Ditto-ing Scott M., this is the chink in the armor, the weak link. I hate to second guess, but this should never have happened. Period. After he/she recovers from his/her injuries, the officer needs to be “un-plugged,” retrained or disciplined, as applicable.

This douchebag was ‘cornered’ in a wooded area, and 3 police officers blew him away after hu lunged at them with some sticks in his hand. Given he almost killed the Miami officer with a piece of a pair of glasses, they were absolutely justified. The Miami officer was released form the hospital today, and will continue recuperating in a local hotel until he is well enough to fly home.

The only reason they found this guy is he broke into a local house, stole some clothes and food. The elderly couple who owned the home called police to report the breakin, and a helicopter found and tracked him.

In his ‘hideout’ in the woods, they found a single small candle, and some scraps of raw chicken. This a*hole swore he wouldn’t go back to jail – and he got his wish. I just don’t think he figured on going out in such a pathetic manner.
