His bullet proof vest doesn’t look quite right with his Speedo. And he has no place to holster his gun and handcuffs. And if I make him wear the cowboy hat, he pouts. He hasn’t figured out the whole “Fun in Harlan” idea yet.
Good article. While I agree with the libertarians on alot of issues, their belief that we’ll be better off if we just legalize everything in the world, is naive at best.
Now feminists like to blame anorexia on men because “Men are sexist pigs who force women to be super-thin because they somehow like it that way. Oink-oink!” Of course, Furious D points out that most men don’t really like the super-super-skinny look.
He blames… Hollywood and magazines. Fashion mags want their models super-skinny, or as Furious D puts it “To get on magazine covers you have to be accepted by the haute couture industry, and their standard of beauty involves women being reduced to glorified coat hangers.”
And then there is Hollywood’s obsession with youth. Or, as Furious D calls it “Juvenile Dementia”. Young people are skinny, older people are not, at least in Hollywood’s mind.
Could, but don’t drink beer. I’m not fat, or even portly. Mrs.-fritz- weighs 110 dripping wet, but doesn’t have the starved model look. She was like that when we met ten years ago. I blame the mags and movies. When I was a kid, the women in movies and TV all had meat on their bones. Now, all of them look like they could use a sandwich or two!
Men play a huge role in body dysphoria; they’re called gay fashion designers. Really, girls, do you think those fellers want us to look appealing to the same men to whom they want to appeal?? Duh.
And hey, Kit. You’ve only drooled over mentiond that Lawrence woman ten or twelve times in the last few days. Who is she?
Oh, duh, Herr! I’m just teasing the hecks outta our young Kit ‘cuz it’s pretty obvious to those of us paying attention that the lad is smitten. Pay attention!
The eyes are easily drawn into, and away from, the surface

Never doubt your beauty
The only unattractive people are those who do.
Also, as I’ve said before, it’s more fun to drive curves than straightaways.
When I was little, we called ‘em “colors.” “Go get your colors out of the sun, Sister, before they melt.” I was in college before I knew what “crayon” was, sorta.
I think Furious has a point- the media and fashion industry are the main culprits, not the public. Insane scrutiny is put on female celebrities’ bodies (remember how much grief Britney Spears got for having a tiny post-pregnancy belly, or the way Jessica Simpson ends up on tabloid covers and websites every time she puts on a few pounds?) and the message they get is that they need to be obsessively skinny to be accepted.
There’s nothing wrong with a woman being trim of course, as long as it’s in a healthy way (see Milla Jovovich for example), but I think most men find a woman with some meat on her bones appealing. Anyone who thinks Salma Hayek or Christina Hendricks would look better if they starved themselves half to death, raise your hand. Yeah, didn’t think so.

Didn’t remember those two incidents but now that you mention them, I think I can vaguely recall that. That is why people like Jennifer Lawrence. In a way she is figuratively telling those mags “I don’t give a f–k” while flipping them a figurative bird.
I like her quote: “I want to look like a woman. I don’t want to look like a little boy.” (Some women also got upset about that, as well. Saying it was an insult to “body positivity” or something like that.)

Here’s something I found interesting in the “Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for English Language Arts and Reading” for High School students. One of the reasons given for developing a student’s reading, writing, research, etc. skills is:
“To meet Texas Education Code, §28.002(h), which states, “… each school district shall foster the continuation of the tradition of teaching United States and Texas history and the free enterprise system in regular subject matter and in reading courses and in the adoption of textbooks,” students will be provided oral and written narratives as well as other informational texts that can help them to become thoughtful, active citizens who appreciate the basic democratic values of our state and nation.” (emphasis added)
I wonder how many other States’ education standards emphasize the free enterprise system as an important for a student “to become thoughtful, active citizens who appreciate the basic democratic values of our state and nation.”
Yes, let’s get this week over with early.
TGIF, everyone!
I didn’t know this is a leap year.
Happy Wednesday Outlaw!
How do you already know tomorrow’s going to be happy? Spooky!
It was happy last week…duh!

Yep.
Sad situation. I’m guessing it was either a case of road-rage, or a mob hit. Take your pick. At 4:30 am it most assuredly involved booze or drugs.
A rapper from Oakland, wow, what a surprise. They often die of lead poisoning.

Hat tip to Jimmy C!
I love the look on Rubio’s face in that picture. He’s mocking the media and having fun doing it. Now that’s what I call Reaganesque.
Bibi’s having fun too.

Well, if he ever figures it out, I’m changing my name to Chlorine. The pool comes later, IYKWIM.
What a shock…
Hey! Then don’t play with your XBox by the pool.
No chance of that — we’re just god friends now.
And as if to underscore the entendre, I dropped an ‘o’…
I get it. “None-tendo” now, huh?
Yep. Complete with the Blue…uh…Ray…uh…disc player.

That is the one I always remember most also – and the weight lifter.

Well,a little…”In Hoc Signo Vinces”

What do you all think?
I think I can sit a beer can on my belly…I’m old!
I’m sure Fritz could “weigh” in on that question!

Yeah, check out the Old Masters like Titian and Rubens…they painted women with curves you could wreck a car on!
Welsh lesson: Rubenesque = zoftig.
Nice. Huh??
Don’t make me share the lyrics to “Meat on the Bone” again.

And hey, Kit. You’ve only
drooled overmentiond that Lawrence woman ten or twelve times in the last few days. Who is she?Jennifer Lawrence was the female lead in “Hunger Games.” A really cute girl.
“A really cute girl.”
Understatement of the still young year.
Kit, I have to be careful how I word that, so I don’t appear to be an old, married weirdo!
Oh, duh, Herr! I’m just teasing the hecks outta our young Kit ‘cuz it’s pretty obvious to those of us paying attention that the lad is smitten. Pay attention!

So’s Texacalirose!
I’m not neither looking; I’m finding. But I just haven’t met “him” yet. And Michael Buble is my boyfriend.
Forgot Pablo already?Poor old pool boy.
Julio!! Pablo’s the librarian.
“him”? Are we talking pre- or post-op?
“And hey, Kit. You’ve only drooled over mentiond that Lawrence woman ten or twelve times in the last few days. Who is she?”

Also, she is a Harry Potter fan!

They do have libraries in Alabama, but you have to bring your own crayons.

Eric had them at Penn State…Crayolas!

Dang, good thing BarryO teaches at a private school.
Where is Barry?Has he taken up golf?
Been busy prepping for a huge Texas history test I’m giving my 7th graders tomorrow. And playing golf!
Hi, Floyd.
Q:Who were the first woman governor of Texas?
A:Miriam Ferguson
They teach free enterprise in California schools, too, except it focuses on how to be enterprising to get free stuff from the government.
