In the meantime, while I’m trying to resurrect my Latin…coffee, krullers and Church!
Early review of White House Down (the other White House attack movie) makes no bones about the fact that it’s pure left-wing propaganda. The villains are white, right-wing terrorists who are mad that the President (Jamie Foxx in full-on Obama mode) pulled our troops out of the Middle East. Ugh.
Yeah, the review makes that point, too- the movie is anti-war and anti-military, but doesn’t see any hypocrisy in showing the heroes using guns and rocket launchers against the bad guys.
White House Down sounds like a current headline.
On the other hand, movie-wise, I just checked out Special Forces on Netflix streaming and it’s well worth checking out. It’s basically a French version of Tears of the Sun set in the Pakistan mountains, with Djimon Honsou in the Bruce Willis role as the head of a Special Forces team who rescues a reporter (Diane Kruger) from a Daniel Pearl-like death at the hands of the Taliban, and they spend the rest of the movie fighting their way through the mountains to safety.
Lots of exciting action (although some of the battle scenes seem kind of unrealistic), and no liberal sucker punches to be found- the soldiers are inarguably the heroes, and the Taliban are depicted as exactly the scumbags they’ve proven themselves to be in real life.
I sincerely pray he doesn’t make a transition from The Flying Wallendas, to The Falling Wallendas!
Not me. No television, and I refuse to waste satellite internet data allowance on this idiocy.
I’m not planning on watching it either. No net, no tether. Murphy’s Law meets Charles Darwin!
I gave in and watched the last half. He was praying on microphone throughout. The wind was high. God saw him through safely. I was surprised that Discovery Channel would have anything so blatantly Christian on their channel. Praise the Lord for this witness!
The Wallendas perform in Branson, MO. at Silver Dollar City. My wife and I got to see them perform and then talk to them for about 15 min after the show last summer. They’re a really neat family.
Great feat…. he’s a strong Christian. If what he does exposes more folks to Christ and isn’t hurting anyone then I’m all for it.
That is one of my three favorite bits from The Avengers. The other two – Hulk cold-cocks Thor – gotta keep those Norse gods in line and Capt’s line, “There’s only one God, ma’am, and I’m pretty sure he doesn’t dress like that.”
Was the Amritsar Massacre an atrocity?Certainly was, though it paled in comparison to Indira Gandhi’s assault on the Sikh Golden Temple complex(the holiest shrine of the Sikhs).Taken as a whole, the British Raj in India was an incredible success. Were it not for the British there would be no India…once again, the genius of the West!
