Oops! I overlooked Matt, having checked in on another post early! Sorry, Matt!
Sheesh! Are you an undercover NSA agent? Keeping tabs on our whereabouts? If so, you need to go back to spy school because I have been hereabouts before anyone …. FIRST!!!!! … and you missed it. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.
Been up since 4:30, boss. No complaints- it gave me an excuse to continue my binge-watching of House of Cards before heading off to work. (Season 2 is quite excellent so far, BTW.)
Older Sun gave me DVD last season of Breaking Bad. I binge watched entire series from beginning before I watched it (just to refresh my memory), and I’m still reeling (or is it called DVD-ing now, Mr. DeMille?). Sooooo not disappointing end.
I have read/heard bits and pieces about HOC and its ostensible left leaning theme, but your endorsement frees me to give it a go, JC! Thx!!!!
I have rescinded my Netflix boycott after their abuse of Sarah Palin. A girl’s gotta live, y’know.
The show takes a pretty scorched-earth view of politicians on both sides. Its basic nonpartisan attitude is that pretty much everyone in D.C. is rotten, corrupt scum, because that’s what power breeds. Fortunately, at least 95% of the characters on the show are Democrats, so we can sit back and enjoy watching them tear each other to pieces. As a bonus, the media is viewed as just as bad, maybe even worse.
I didn’t appreciate how Netflix treated Sarah Palin, either, but between this show and their very sympathetic Mitt Romney documentary, they’ve gotten back into my good graces.
Ditto on the SP sentiment. The Mitt movie is lovely. Can’t wait to watch HOC.
OT: I don’t want to spoil it for you, et al, so I won’t comment on the outcome of the Olympic women’s hockey today. I’ll wait till tonight …
BTW, I was similarly reluctant to watch HOC for fear of another left-wing sucker punch, and it was Floyd who convinced me to give it a look. I neglected to give him credit for that in my previous comment, which I’m assuming is why it was conveniently “in moderation” for the last three hours.
Wait ’til you see what he’s done to the balance in your bank account.
We haven’t started Season Two yet, waiting for some kidless time to get through a few episodes. We thought the first season was fantastic and I thought about it for weeks. Still need to the to the second season of Lilyhammer also.
I’m off work today, packing for my trip to SoCal to celebrate my Grand Dotter’s first birthday. Yep, it’s been a very pink year!
I’m easing into the morning, watching Massive Moves on HGTV. Current episode is about this place. Fascinating. I’m going there someday soon … I hope.
And after his stint as Texas governor, Greg Abbott for president. Isn’t it time we have our first wheelchair bound president? (FDR doesn’t count ‘cuz he hid his affliction and because he was a dimocrat. hahahahah!).
