Perry leans right, by Tyler plainly doesn't give a shit, which I find just as cool in a town you have to be left to be in. Nearly 18 years ago, Tyler decided to dress as Linda Hamilton from Terminator 2 as he presented awards at the MTV VMAs. He presented to REM, whose lead singer Michael Stripe was wearing different t-shirts with liberal causes dujour blazened across the front, because you know, it's not an award show if someone isn't shoving something issue-wise down your throat. Up comes Stipe wearing a "gun control" t-shirt and standing there next to him with a grin is Tyler, bandoliers branding shotgun shells draped all over, along with a shotgun. Yes, MTV allowed him to actually have a shotgun on stage. Good God, the hilarity.
