Compare that beaut with the new Nissan, the “Cube”. No, that’s not a derogatory nickname, that’s what it’s actually called. I myself am going to wait for Government Motors’ new vehicle, the 2009 Rusted Out Broken Down Shitbox.

  • Ok, I would love to hear someone explain how HopeyChangey is going to get out of this one:

Apparently there is a bill to give monetary support to the troops that passed fabulously but now is being changed by admin. He wants to tack on the money to shut down Gitmo, which loses him all GOP support and enough Dems to put it in jeopardy because there were already some anti war Dems against the money in the first place. In order for these anti-war guys to flip, they want the interrogation photos protection bit taken out. But that will lose him even more Dems. Meanwhile the troops get crap?

So does he give up on Gitmo, the photos, or the troops? At least that’s how I understood it from NPR this morning.

    Someone explain this to me.

    • I expect Kit will explain it in 3.. 2… 1….

    • Kit

How do you and Mike want the reasoning?
      -Youtube Comment Style?
      -Adoring Worshipper Style?
      -Joe Biden Style?

    • Kit

Okay, I’ll try one, or a combination.

      YOUTUBE COMMENT STYLE:
He will do it by getting the PEOPLE!!! to follow HIM!!! YOU FACISTS!!! HE AIN’T STEWPID LIKE PALIN AND THE TEABAGGERS (Ha! I’m Clever!). That is why he won 90% of the VOTE!!! The People, not the Right-Wing Facistic CEO Military Gay-hating (but secretly gay) %$^%@#s who hate him because he is black.

      ADORING WORSHIPPER STYLE:
You see, Obama will use his majestic powers of speech that resonates with all human beings, rich and poor, young and old, and cloudy and gray, to bring everyone to his side. HE knows the right course. He will follow it. Obama will make sure that the troops who totured are put to justice and the troops that are innocent are protected. He will bring peace to the Middle East. No one, except a desperate few, will hate him for it. The Congress and the American People understand why he is doing what he is doing. He will bring the world together. He is, in a way, like God.

      JOE BIDEN:
It will be like when the civil war started in 1860 and Michigan seceded and Lincoln went on the radio and told everyone to come together. He succeeeded. The troops, and it doesn’t matter if they are black, Jewish, white, mexican, or wop, he will oppose them- I mean SUPPORT, support them. Hey, WAIT! What are you doing, Get your hands off me! I’m not screwing up. Let me go! MMMPH! MMMMHMMM! MMPHMMHMPHMMMFM!

    • I guess I was hoping someone would tell me it’s not that bad and the troops will be ok (well, I know no one can say they’ll be ok, but that they’ll have what they need). I wish he would just let the Gitmo thing go or not on it’s own merit, but it won’t and therefore he won’t. This box he’s painted himself in would almost be amusing except for the troops part.

      Kit,
you’re the Rich Little of the internet. Do you even know who Rick Little is?

  • Sorry to inject this now, but the Supreme Court gave a green light to the Fiat-Chrysler deal. Fiat (This one’s for you, Rufus) now owns Chrysler. maybe your old clunker will become a museum piece afterall.

As for the troops, we all know that politics comes first and the troops and veterans will suffer yet another setback at the hands of this Godless bunch that’s running the show.

Has anybody heard of the Citizens United v. FEC case dealing with the documentary about Hillary Clinton? I’m writing a paper on it for a Professor and if you get the time look it up. It has to do with McCain-Feingold, which I knew was bad, but had no idea what an egregious assault on our 1st Amendment rights it really is. McCain’s sponsoring of the bill, and Bush’s signing it, should be condemned by all conservatives.

    • Yeah I had read about this back during the election. The FEC basically sided with the Clinton lawyers and had the movie classified as political speech from what I understand. Which should have huge implications on movie making and political action but since it was against a Democrat it apparently only applies to that movie somehow. It also shows how incredibly stupid that McCain-Feingold law is.

    • Not sure how much help it can be with your paper, blackhawk, but I’ve got an interview with Citizens United David Bossie where he discusses some of the crap he was going through when Hillary – The Movie was getting released. If you’re interested, I’ll dig it out of the archives and send to you.

The Supreme Court has yet to rule on the case so we’ll see how they go. The worst part is that if they side with the FEC it will prevent the distribution of these kinds of films (Citizens United plans to make more) through Video On Demand during general and primary elecetions (and conventions and caucuses). With VOD we have a communicator willing to convey a message (CU) and a listener willing to receive it (the person who selects the movie from their VOD menu). If the SC rules that speech that requires two willing and interested parties is subject to government regulation then we are in serious trouble when it comes to the preservation of basic liberties.

Hey guys the dude who shot up the holocaust Museum was an 89 year old guy with a very German last name. von Brenn….maybe he is the lost Nazi. Perhaps we found Borman? MWAHAHAHAHA!

  • Kit

Oh, anything heard on whether or not Obama will scrap Project Constellation the planned replacement for the Space Shuttle.

  • blackhawk12151

Thanks Eric that would be a help. SCOTUSwiki is my go to for pending case documents. I’ve been reading the briefs from each side trying to get a real handle on each sides argument. The SC already upheld McCain-Feingold as facially Constitutional in McConnell v. FEC so it might be up to individual cases like Citizens United and Wisconsin Right to Life to chip away at it’s reach little by little.

Its times like these that I wish I could go into a coma for 3 years.

    • I’ve done 8 days, Kit. Very relaxing, but the coming out of it’s a little wacky. You piss in hotel corridors and actually think the “Invisible Touch” video’s good.

I got this from Instapundit. Just a great story of the people who work at that museum.

The guard from the museum died. I’m so sad about that I don’t even have words.

  • Sad yes!

More fuel for the anti 2nd amendment crowd!

  • If you want to have some real fun go look at what the ever wacky left is saying about the museum shooting. I’ve been posting under WeaponX at:

    http://www.talkleft.com/

Basically they are saying this is simply right wing extremism and hate and particularly racial hatred are the sole property of the right. It’s really fun trying flustering them with logic and simple questions. This would be a great site for some flash mobbing. Hint Hint Mike.

Obama may have trouble with his grassrooters in bringing Socialized Healthcare to the table:

  • This site needs more GK Chesterton. Just saying.

  • Great picture, Floyd.
I’ll have to take a spin in the old Packard today.
The wonderful Thirties. Time to re-live them. Oh. We are.
