One of my first parodies was “Cloud City,” to the tune of Van Zant’s “Sun City.” Fortunately, the lyrics no longer exist. “Mama Weer All Lazee Now” may be in a box back home, though. God help us!!!

As I've dipped my toes in the parody song waters, I've really come to respect Al all the more. So many genres, all done well, most eerily well. Re. Christmas tunes, this is my fave since your call, 'bot 3.0, which was my fave since the Kinks' "Father Christmas."

…A surprisingly strong singer too, though occasionally he sounds a bit too much like Big Bird. “Christmas At Ground Zero” is the best Xmas song in the last 30 years.

Ah, Lordy, I love The Al! One of the great, unsung songwriters of our time, and he’s got a really solidly crackerjack band. No one gives him the mad props he’s due, alas. Also: seen him in concert twice, and he always puts on a great show.
