Pick the ‘FN review

transformers-revenge-of-the-fallen-poster

Meant to catch Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen by now, but the EGR valve on the FN-mobile went kaput, meaning an afternoon of scrapped knuckles, bloody fingers and greasy pants. With Public Enemies debuting tin two days, which film would the loyal Threedonia-ites care to read about first? Transformers? Public Enemies? I’m planning on something for Wednesday. I’ll eventually make it to both, but given my indecisiveness, I thought I’d offer myself up for some suggestions.

  • Public Enemies #1 — 5-oh said freeze, picked that one.

Revenge of the Fallen is a mess of a film, with structural problems and plot holes aplenty, but it’s also a visually creative and a rare throwback of a dumb fun summer blockbuster, with unapologetic heroism that really grabs you at a gut level and warms the cockles. However, there is suggestive language and sexual references, so you may hold off on taking the kids. Conversely, however, you do get to see an old-fashioned happy and faithful couple.

I saw the Transformers today and I didn’t notice any sexual references unless you mean the robot trying to hump Megan Fox’s leg, AND the two dogs going at it. but then again, the movie was SO loud and everything happened so fast.

too bad. these movies could and should delve more into the mythological elements to the Transformers. It might make for better drama.

    cannot wait for Public Enemies.

Am reading “Public Enemies” right now….Bonnie and Clyde are fixing to die of lead poisoning

  • Let me guess, the “G Men” win in the end?

My vote goes for Public Enemies, as I have no desire to see Transformers 2. The first one was mildly entertaining (especially when Shia The Beef wasn’t on-screen), but I have no burning desire to relive the experience.

What is funny,Outlaw,is that Dillinger,Barrow,Baby Face Nelson,et al,didn’t die of old age.The incompetence of law enforcement in the 30′s was beyond belief…

Alvin Karpis did die of old age…

Public Enemies please. I’ve already heard enough about Transformer: Revenge of the Cash Cow to know that I’m not interested.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

I walked out of the first Ice Age movie. Someone I knew had just died, so I went to cheer myself up. I thought two hours of watching that squirrel chase that nut would do it, but the whole grieving thing and the kiddy gushyness of it all made me walk out. I spent the next two hours listening to slow blues tunes.

in case you need any further proof Transfomers 2 sucks:

**there is some language in the page so be forewarned, and laugh yourself silly. This review is insanely accurate.

I have not seen any of the Ice Age movies.
I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.
