Why? You know they’re going to be talking about it, too. When MJ actually died, they gave Shep Smith six fucking hours to eulogize him and wound up pre-empting O’Reilly AND Red Eye.
And don’t forget, they went to showing videos with no anchor audio. Eulogize hell, more like proselytize.
Meanwhile, Iran is purging protesters, the economy is in shambles and North Korea is firing warning shots at Hawaii. Why would anyone find that interesting? If someone rammed a 777 into the Empire State Building, we better hope no Jonas Brother or washed-up pop start bit the bullet the same day.
Jake, you’re starting to sound like pessimism, cynicism, fatalism, and bitterness all wrapped up into one puss-filled of angst and doom. Cool it. Every comment you’ve left in the past few days has been of the same tenor. A little variation wouldn’t hurt.
This IS variation. Every so often, I get like this; it tends to last about two weeks and then fade away.
The Dems are making “hay” while the sun shines…on Michael Jackson. As long as all the media attention is on all this stuff, they’ll be busy ramming something through in another “unread” bill. You can bet your sore booty on it. Remember BHO…the purveyor of myths? He’ll be busy!
The MJ cottage industry will continue for years … and every time the media will go back to it they’ll collectively cry ‘it’s what the viewer wants.’

Television is, after all, that vast wasteland that Newton Minnow talked about decades ago. Only difference now is 500 channels are a waste as opposed to the then 4 or 5.
Truth is, it’s much easier to spoon feed 20 hours of Jacko a few blocks from the affiliate than it is to do real reporting in North Korea or Iran.
Thank God all my travels on Tuesday are away from downtown. Small miracles…

I didn’t see FOX on the list but apparently they are going to cover this giant pile of slime to. GACK!
