So Jackson worship doesn’t have you worked up into enough disgust? Watching Al Sharpton hijack a pederast’s funeral got you feeling queasy, but not over the edge? Trolling Kos to find more heat for Palin to at least send a cold shiver up the leg? Give this one a shot.
You are an effete liberal college student, ardently pro choice, yet not smart enough to use birth control. You get knocked up, but don’t have the funds to pay the proper doctor/clothes hanger. What to do? Why, hold an abortion party.
From Mark Hemmingway of The Corner:
“What are you going to do?” Unnecessary question, really — a conversational life vest, used when you’re sputtering for something to say. We knew the answer. Maggie, a 22-year-old college senior with no intention of bringing a child into the world yet, was going to have an abortion. She told us that she had already made up her mind; she had even determined the time, date and location. A better question might have been, “How are you going to pay for it?”
She answered that one before we had a chance to ask. “We’re having a party Friday to raise money,” Maggie said. “You guys are obviously invited.”
An abortion party. For the price of whatever we were willing to donate, she explained, we could partake of baked goods, beer and dancing. It was going to start at 10 p.m. at Maggie’s.
The Facebook invite came a day later, and it was settled. Ali and I were going to scrape together what donation money we could and join in the festivities.
The end isn’t completely nigh. Some of said preggers friends, even liberal friends, were disgusted at her act of fundraising. Their concerns were appropriately dismissed as being – too male.
I did, however, think the extent to which Maggie’s friends were eager to vilify her partner was peculiar. These were liberal people, after all — people whose views on sex were worlds away from anything someone might consider “modest.” I couldn’t help but notice how aggressive and, for lack of a better term, ‘male’ their attitudes became when confronted with the issue of a woman’s right to choose. It was almost as if, in the process of upholding an ideal of openness and acceptance, they had fallen victim to the same forces they were trying to critique.
Just keep in mind, Maggie will emerge as some preter-liberal feminist hero, while Sarah Palin remains the anti-Christ. I’m sure if she dies during the abortion, some poetry-spewing like-minded progressive will make a memorial in a Berkeley mud hole or hold their latte cup at half-mast when they log onto her Facebook page. It’ll be Bush’s fault.
They’ll donate money to some cause to pay for abortions – not blaming Maggie for getting knocked up or her murdering a baby in the first place – but because somewhere, somehow fate smiled and the government wasn’t there to pick up the tab. Poor Maggie has to go to one of those low-rent abortion doctors that litter the ghetto.
Christopher Hitchens once spoke of the New York Times moniker “All The News That’s Fit To Print” and how he feels the irritation it still gives him has helped counter a lifetime of cigarettes and booze in maintaining his status among the living. I have to credit a similar method of life expediency thanks to Keith Olbermann’s obtuse and ridiculous “Worst Person In The World” segment, that nightly orgasm of arrogance and self-aggrandizement in which MSNBC’s anointed chuckles up some poor detached conservative who dare appeared on his radar and jizzes invective and hate like a third-rate villain from a George Lucas movie. For one moment, I find Olbermann’s deranged labeling appropriate.
Maggie, you are the Worst Person In The World.

That her liberal friends were disgusted by her actions gives me hope.
And who can say: It might have caused them to start rethinking their position. If you can’t lead by example, you can certainly serve as an object lesson.
Or, David, cutting a bit closer to the bone, “No one is totally worthless. They may be used as a bad example.”
People were once horrified by a lot of things that are now just grand. It’s great they were mad about it but it won’t change a damn thing. Giving her press about her horrible idea will just galvanize her, now she’s a martyr.
I’m a bit confused by her friend’s repugnance myself. They are the ones who have fed the idea that it’s a medical procedure just like all others. They are the ones who said it’s no big deal. Apparently they *do* have a moral line, but it’s kinda hazy and only pops up when asked to contribute.

True, but there’s always a limit to how far the rubber band can stretch before it snaps. But you never how far it takes to get there or what the consequences will be when you do.
In any case, what about the recent poll showing a majority of the country now identifying as “pro-life”? Her kind may become rarer, at least on this issue.
Giving her press about her horrible idea will just galvanize her, now she’s a martyr.
It’ll just fade into white noise. She was going to get an abortion, one way or another.

But it’s precisely these types of occurrences and contrasts that cause Lefties to move to the Right. They actually have to think through their worldview, for once. More than a couple of prominent conservative pundits did precisely that.
Also, I think it should receive attention. Of course it will make her a martyr among her kind, but too often we stay quiet and resign ourselves to letting things slide, instead of dragging things into the light and heaping shame upon it. We need to embarrass and shame monsters like these. Like Fritz said, “No one is totally worthless. They may be used as a bad example.”
The key is that we can’t just “tisk tisk,” sneer or go on a tirade. We have to contrast with a healthy example, clearly presented.
John,
I agree that this is whole deal and Maggie are shameful, but I take exception to something different in your comments: ‘Poor Maggie has to go to one of those low-rent abortion doctors that litter the ghetto.” I don’t mind you being a crackpot conservative, but please don’t ruin a
perfectlyperfect [Mr.EPluribus -- glad to help with your grammar, Mr. President] tirade (while persuading this liberal democrat to be appalled) with this BS.Let’s break that down. “Low-rent” would imply “not up to standards” or “seedy”. “Litter” would imply that you simply could not walk 10 feet without running into a doctor who would readily do this procedure. “Ghetto” implies poor and for the most part minority. You may try to argue that, but it goes hand-in-hand with your stereotyping that it implies non-white. So from starting out making a good point about Maggie’s ridiculously insensitive and abhorrent behavior, you reveal more of yourself as a white, racist elitist.
Mr. President, if you check out the statistics describing the number of abortions per pregnancy broken down by racial group, you’ll find that it’s Planned Parenthood and their abortionists that are the white, racist, elitists.
So from starting out making a good point about Maggie’s ridiculously insensitive and abhorrent behavior, you reveal more of yourself as a white, racist elitist.
The proportional numbers for births out of wedlock and abortions for blacks in low-income brackets is disproportionate with other racial groups. That’s fact. Denying the existence of a malignant, socially destructive, morally corrosive subculture in the black community–that glorifies the ghetto, extols the thug life and leads to very complicated family trees–is defiant idiocy offensive to common sense. That young blacks have been sold on conditioned hopelessness, dependency and ignorance as being “authentically black” is tragic. That white liberals stoop down to pat them on the head and lead them like children, lowering standards and giving them instructions, is infuriating. That you call any of this “stereotyping”
(and believe me when I say I grew up in the middle of it) is foolish.
BarryO…. 80% of abortion clinics border or are within poor minority communities. “Ghetto” is a commonly accepted cultural term for poor areas — perhaps ghetto and Barrio would smooth over your delicate sensibilities? There are plenty near trailer parks too though young white college students are the majority of white abortions. 35% of Black pregnancies end in abortion — that is a a damn shame and a “crime”. It’s racist all right, but not by the party that trumpets race at every turn. I would also link you to this site….
Black Genocide.org
And after all this…. Welcome to Threedonia! It’s good to have a different opinion around here and you appear to be sincere (as opposed to sincerely troll-like) and thoughtful and even though I’m sure you’re wrong 80% of the time
please make yourself at home. Watch out for Stephanie!
I’ll second Floyd’s welcome. That you got a drubbing from me only means your number was up. Even Floyd’s gotten some heat from me every once and a while.
Yes, watch out for Stephanie!
She told me to “grow a brain” once. ME!
But she’s all right.
oh and we parse words in good faith. Why assume John is racially motivated when first he a conservative and we loathe “racialist stuff” except to poke fun at bloated and pompous liberal hypocrisy and second… the point of the post is abortion not race (in the least) and three — “littered” is a common expression. And I just realized you called John a “racist”. Cut the “racist” bullshit. We debate nicely around here and don’t cotton to ad hominem attacks. No apologies. See my prior comment on Black abortions. Ghettos are also littered with abortion clinics, crack pipes, meth needles, and Burger King cups for that matter. They’re also populated by a large community of people who are under the tyranny of shitheads and their liberal enablers — scared to come out and unable to utilize the tried and true methods of dealing with criminals and bullies because of PC BS. So are barrios (except for Taco B ell cups) and trailer parks (except for Budweiser cans).
“We debate nicely”
Unless we are dealing with man-boobs.
(Had to warn Barry)
Yes Barry… don’t make me break out the man-boobs. Of course it’s usually followed by a Salma Hayek cleanser.
Barry,
He’ll spring those man-boobs on without warning and you will spend the rest of your life trying to wash the image from your eyes.
The comment was made in complete jest and as sarcasm, from the said point of view of the elitist, college snob who thinks abortion parties are fine. To be truthful, I have no idea the condition of the abortion clinics in the ghetto, other than there are way too many of them and I find their placement there to be an example of liberal eugenics more than compassion.
This girl is a perfect example of what Kurt Vonnegut’s character called a wrang-wrang” — “a person who steers people away from a line of speculation by reducing that line, with the example of the wrang-wrang’s own life, to an absurdity.”
In other words, a person who serves as such a blatantly bad example that one can’t help but notice. The narrator of Cat’s Cradle states that his own wrang-wrang was a former friend of his, a nihilist artist whom he allowed to house-sit for him; he came back to find that this “friend” of his had trashed his apartment, drunk every drop of alcohol in the kitchen, scribbled obscene poetry on the walls, broken all the furniture, and killed his cat.
Enlighten me Mike. How are Planned Parenthood white, racist elitist by the racial group abortion statistic (the statistic doesn’t say anything about them as a group, it’s reflective of the data). And if they are, show me where they say white, racist elitist statements (like FN John’s). Or are you just trying to stretch your dislike for them onto a framework so that you can vilify them.
BarryO. Intentions don’t always matter. Of course Planned Parenthood’s goal now is not to eliminate Blacks (as it was when they started in the 1920s as part of the Progressive wave of eugenics), but even if they “accidentally” kill 35% of Black babies ending in 14 million (at least) less Blacks and knowing the stats they continue ahead in their programs wouldn’t that be racist? PP knows the stats better than anybody and they still “move ahead”. If there were stats showing that women who have abortions substantially improve their professional prospects or standard of living then there would be an argument. Instead — they continue to kill Black and brown babies at inordinately high rates with no resulting rise in minority standard of living rates in those communities. In a society where it costs $40K to adopt a baby that’s a damn shame.
Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood:
And one of her “main objectives” from her “Plan for Peace”:
Oh cool another troll… awesome.
Lets she decided since she had no funds to get a doctor to kill her baby she’d have a party? First question I always ask was she raised by wolves? Oh wait wolves actually raise well mannered carrying pups whose first duty is to protect the pups that are born. She couldn’t have been raised by wolves. Funny but did ya’ll know the closest animal to how humans are built are pigs? But then ditto for pigs.
Where was this lovely example of feminity’s parents? Here is what I’d bet Mommy is a leftwing feminazi hack, who has so much self loathing for her own gender that she projected it onto her daughter. Be like a man. OK. Why would any self respecting woman want to be like a man? Ones who have no self respect TADA! That was an easy one.
Obviously there is no Sperm donor/ Dad around or else Maggie darlin never A would have gotten preggers in the first place and B if she did her choices would have been made more apparent to her.
So Maggie, a product of the cult of Misandry. Good on her.
Trolls leave comments like:
“LMAO! Obama is PRESIDENT DEAL WITH IT!”
Barry is a liberal, and I hope he sticks around.
Mike & Floyd,
Your points are taken. As Floyd points out and Mike refers to the founding of Planned Parenthood was racist, but I would suggest you update your information and way of thinking to 2009. There is not one mention of these things in Planned Parenthood today. Having been founded 90 years ago, it was acceptable to have segregation. Society, at the time, felt it was proper back then. If you feel it is proper today, then you are racist today. That’s like saying America is racist since it supported slavery. Yes it did, but I would never say anything like that against the good, ol’ USA today, because we have realized it was wrong and don’t stand for that anymore. Please don’t argue that PP represents the same thing that it did when it started because it’s just silly. I got off point and will let it go.
Anyway, I like Floyd’s point about adoption. There are so many people that would want to have a baby and can’t. It’s a great option.
As I rant, there are so many factors in determining standards of living that to connect it to abortion is very weak. You could talk about education, opportunity, crime, population, religion, business, etc… The inverse of your point is also a tenuous argument: making abortion illegal would result in the rise in the standard of living for those minorities. Actually, the very opposite of that was addressed in a book called Freakonomics that showed the correlation of the sudden drop in crime in respect to when abortions were made legal (it didn’t happen overnight, but 13-18 years later when those primarily poor, minority children would have been of age to start contributing to crime, gangs & drugs). More unwanted babies (I hate to even say that, but it is the case) were not brought into the world to be left to parents who did not supervise them or have the proper funds to care for them
Thanks for listening.
Sorry, with all my ranting and raving I want it said for the record that this liberal, democrat still thinks Maggie in the story above is an asshole.
That’s all right BarryO — we all go on our rants — everyone’s got a button. We might even push them on purpose on occasion. You seem good-natured and able to debate so I hope you’ll come around and comment to your heart’s desire.
The entire scenario is one illustrating the moral bankruptcy of today’s society. Not meaning to sound racist, because I’m not, but why are there more out of wedlock pregnancies within the black community than any other societal group? The government has made it more palatable by increasing the welfare checks and the rolls and making it appear better for the hit & miss fathers to continue from woman to woman, etc., etc. I’ve heard of cases where a promiscuous male may have as many as 11 children by as many different women. There is a problem here with the government. Money is always thrown at a problem instead of actually hunkering down and attepting to solve said problem.
Thomas Sowell’s Law: If you manage to do three things, the probability that you will live in poverty in America is miniscule:
1. Graduate high school
2. Get a job (any job) and keep it
3. Wait until marriage to have children
Graduating high school: With the rise of the influence of the teacher’s union the quality of public education in this country has nose-dived. Add to this the phenomenon of academic success being characterized as “acting white” (as documented by James McWhorter) and there goes #1.
LBJ’s “Great Society” ended the concept of children within marriage as the norm for all lower-income people of any race.
With #1 and #3 shot to hell, #2 doesn’t have a chance. What employers will hire people who are proudly uneducated? Why would they locate their businesses in chronically poor, high-crime areas. (Criminality is far more associated with fatherlessness than poverty.)
Edit:
What employers will hire people who are
proudly uneducated?uneducated, some of them proudly so?And this becomes more problematic with statistics like this: Las Vegas, or more precisely, the Clark County School District announced recently on local radio news, that the dropout rate is approaching 50%. A lot of teens here are starting to realize there is more money to be had, quickly, by turning to either or both theft or drug dealing.
Sadly no one has filled them in on the shorter than usual life expectancy of those involved in these “professions.”
