And this becomes more problematic with statistics like this: Las Vegas, or more precisely, the Clark County School District announced recently on local radio news, that the dropout rate is approaching 50%. A lot of teens here are starting to realize there is more money to be had, quickly, by turning to either or both theft or drug dealing.

Sadly no one has filled them in on the shorter than usual life expectancy of those involved in these "professions."

Edit:

What employers will hire people who are <strike>proudly uneducated?</strike> uneducated, some of them proudly so?

Thomas Sowell's Law: If you manage to do three things, the probability that you will live in poverty in America is miniscule:

1. Graduate high school
2. Get a job (any job) and keep it
3. Wait until marriage to have children

Graduating high school: With the rise of the influence of the teacher's union the quality of public education in this country has nose-dived. Add to this the phenomenon of academic success being characterized as "acting white" (as documented by James McWhorter) and there goes #1.

LBJ's "Great Society" ended the concept of children within marriage as the norm for all lower-income people of any race.

With #1 and #3 shot to hell, #2 doesn't have a chance. What employers will hire people who are proudly uneducated? Why would they locate their businesses in chronically poor, high-crime areas. (Criminality is far more associated with fatherlessness than poverty.)

That's all right BarryO -- we all go on our rants -- everyone's got a button. We might even push them on purpose on occasion. You seem good-natured and able to debate so I hope you'll come around and comment to your heart's desire.

The entire scenario is one illustrating the moral bankruptcy of today's society. Not meaning to sound racist, because I'm not, but why are there more out of wedlock pregnancies within the black community than any other societal group? The government has made it more palatable by increasing the welfare checks and the rolls and making it appear better for the hit & miss fathers to continue from woman to woman, etc., etc. I've heard of cases where a promiscuous male may have as many as 11 children by as many different women. There is a problem here with the government. Money is always thrown at a problem instead of actually hunkering down and attepting to solve said problem.

Mike & Floyd,

Your points are taken. As Floyd points out and Mike refers to the founding of Planned Parenthood was racist, but I would suggest you update your information and way of thinking to 2009. There is not one mention of these things in Planned Parenthood today. Having been founded 90 years ago, it was acceptable to have segregation. Society, at the time, felt it was proper back then. If you feel it is proper today, then you are racist today. That's like saying America is racist since it supported slavery. Yes it did, but I would never say anything like that against the good, ol' USA today, because we have realized it was wrong and don't stand for that anymore. Please don't argue that PP represents the same thing that it did when it started because it's just silly. I got off point and will let it go.

Anyway, I like Floyd's point about adoption. There are so many people that would want to have a baby and can't. It's a great option.

As I rant, there are so many factors in determining standards of living that to connect it to abortion is very weak. You could talk about education, opportunity, crime, population, religion, business, etc... The inverse of your point is also a tenuous argument: making abortion illegal would result in the rise in the standard of living for those minorities. Actually, the very opposite of that was addressed in a book called Freakonomics that showed the correlation of the sudden drop in crime in respect to when abortions were made legal (it didn't happen overnight, but 13-18 years later when those primarily poor, minority children would have been of age to start contributing to crime, gangs & drugs). More unwanted babies (I hate to even say that, but it is the case) were not brought into the world to be left to parents who did not supervise them or have the proper funds to care for them

Thanks for listening.

Oh cool another troll... awesome.
Lets she decided since she had no funds to get a doctor to kill her baby she'd have a party? First question I always ask was she raised by wolves? Oh wait wolves actually raise well mannered carrying pups whose first duty is to protect the pups that are born. She couldn't have been raised by wolves. Funny but did ya'll know the closest animal to how humans are built are pigs? But then ditto for pigs.
Where was this lovely example of feminity's parents? Here is what I'd bet Mommy is a leftwing feminazi hack, who has so much self loathing for her own gender that she projected it onto her daughter. Be like a man. OK. Why would any self respecting woman want to be like a man? Ones who have no self respect TADA! That was an easy one.
Obviously there is no Sperm donor/ Dad around or else Maggie darlin never A would have gotten preggers in the first place and B if she did her choices would have been made more apparent to her.
So Maggie, a product of the cult of Misandry. Good on her.
