Another in the long line of unashamed fan-boy posts for this movie. I found this poster over at Ain’t-it-cool News.

Today’s feature is from 1959 entitled “Wild About Hurry” , which features Chuck Jones’ creation the Road Runner and a Acme Brand Indestructo Steel Ball.

Smurfin’ Smurfs!

A French sociologist has written a book accusing the Smurfs of being racists, anti-semitic, fascist, and communist. From the Guardian

A little blue army of fans has mobilised to defend the Smurfs against accusations of antisemitism, racism and communism.

Antoine Buéno, a lecturer at Sciences Po university in Paris, makes the claims in [...]

Sorry — forgot this was a holiday weekend, so this week’s Five has been bumped to next week’s. Kriskey shot a round of darts with our cleaning lady to come up with today’s questions:

Bugs Bunny stars in Hillbilly Hare, directed by Robert McKimson. If for nothing else watch it for the square dance scene at the end.

“Shut up, shutting up!”

Much better than the 1957 effort entitled Bugsy and Mugsy also directed by Mister Freeling, IMHO.

Your Saturday Morning Cartoon

The 1953 effort by Charles M Jones, entitled Bully for Bugs.

“What a gulla-bull!”

Secreligious

While obviously not real heresy… this seems a bridge too far — even for an onanistic basement dweller feverishly drawing comics. From Comics Alliance:

Superman replies that it was foolish to think that his actions would not reflect politically on the American government, and that he therefore plans to renounce his American citizenship at [...]

Your Saturday Morning Cartoon

Porky Pig and Sylvester star in Claws for Alarm, a 1954 effort directed by Chuck Jones.

This was a much better cartoon in my opinion that the previous 1948 flick by Mister Jones entitled Scaredy Cat.

Compare and contrast.

“What a ccccraven coward!”
